Root ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.0.8 no options work

I am trying to flash a new ROM for a friend on his phone, but everytime I go into Clockwork and try to wipe data, cache, or reboot, the screen just goes blank. If i press the power button again, it goes back to the main clockwork screen. The only way out is a battery pull.

Can anyone help me troubleshoot this ASAP?

I had the same issue. So I flashed an older recovery under "Flash alternate recovery" in Rom Manager and it works fine.

I'm on 2.5.0.7

it also depends on which clockwork you are using if it be dx/2 bootstrapper, or the cwm recovery through cm7, the clockwork recovery through cm7 uses the old version

the dx/2 bootstrapper was upgraded by koush, but he doesnt see how its not working considering there wasnt much he changed.

so basically if your using the strapper thats where your issue is, especially if you bought it

Steven58: Flashed 2.5.0.7 successfully, same results.

VoidedSaint: I do not speak your language very well. I do not have cm7, stock ROM .602 build. Bootstrapper for Droid 2 v 1.0.0.5 IIRC. I also have ROM Manager installed.

I used to be good at the DX thing, then I got the TB and I have completely lost ability to do anything with this phone... don't judge me.

no worries, cm7 doesnt require the d2 bootstrapper, the fact that you got to it was surprising, you access cwm by holding power, then reboot option and reboot recovery, thats how you access it through cm7, any other rom like apex, liberty, vortex, etc etc, you use dx/2 bootstrapper

4.5.605 Rooted/Deodexed
4.5.605

This is what I am trying to flash now. I have the zip on the SD, and I am booting int CWM, and then its stuck. At this point is when the phone becomes unresponsive to a degree.

Android Version: 2.3.3

System Version: 4.5.602.MB810.Verizon.en.US

That's my information. Eventually I am trying to get the phone OCd and running (so far i think) a MUIU ROM.

a you mean miui, and ok this does help, then i would suggest doing as steven suggests and restore a previous recovery, and you should be fine.

I restored the only option ROM Manager gave me (2.5.0.8) and it is doing the same thing. I can boot CWM but I cannot perform any functions within it.

really? your still having the same issue? i dont know man, that sounds kinda strange, i am on cm7 right now so i dont have any problems, and im using my old version of d2 bootstrapper, im at work and cannot post it up but if you want shoot me a pm with an email addy

Any other ideas? Could/should I completely restore stock recovery and start over? (how would I go about doing this?) n000000000000000b

yes his problem is a little bit strange, after sbfing he cannot use bootstrapper, screen goes blank, and cannot install roms.

any suggestions?

If clear data or uninstall updates or uninstall/reinstall RM and D2BS don't work, then I'd sbf with 602, take the 605 update, root, then flash your rom.

SBFd Froyo .340 build and am going to try and take things from there tomorrow. Unrooted ATM. If anyone has suggestions, please chime in. I am willing to try about anything now.

This has more become a matter of pride than a root attempt.
