Root ClockworkMod Recovery question

Quick question about flashing clockwork mod recovery. One of the first steps when installing Clockwork is to flash the recovery file. So my questions is; do you have to "re-flash" that file ever? For example, my current recovery is ClockworkMod 2.5.1.0 and ROM manager is now at 2.5.1.2, should I flash recovery again?

The rom manager version and the clockwork recovery version are not the same. One version number is for the app and the other is for the recovery.

So it was just a coincidence that they were the same when I flashed recovery? I flashed recovery two updates ago which would have put ROM manager at 2.5.1.0

Either way, is there ever a need to re-flash the recovery?
