please give the developing community access to unlock the bootloader for the Z970 zmax.

that alone will double your sales....where ever the phone is available ...globally

The topic is recognized. However, this phone is a one designed for the carrier, and sold directly to the carrier. Something like this has to be approved by them. Thanks!

I signed. I'm not going to get my hopes up. Hell, they don't even know if ZTE will unlock it. They are basing it off of ZTE releasing the kernel source.

Yeah, I never get my hopes up too high when it comes to petitions, anyone can make a petition but it doesnt mean they'll always agree to it.

But doesn't hurt to be enthusiastic.

Can't wait for this thing to be rooted though, this phone would be 10 times better with it.

Hell yeah I hope the petition does the trick.
I like this phone much better than the fierce 2.
 
Not to be a buzzkill but, I don't see metro releasing anything. Well, releasing anything without dollar signs. But then again, Tmo bought Metro. Tmo is selling phones with unlocked bootloaders. According to many folks on the Note 4 root thread.
Don't hold me to that. I do not know if that is factual.

I might sound stupid but could a regular employee unlock the bootloader? because i know two people who have jobs at metro, and if they could then i could talk them into unlocking it for me or something. (well at least teaching me how)

I don't know the process, so lol sorry if i sound ********
 
No, a regular employee would not have the ability to unlock a bootloader (assuming / providing there is not already a standard bootloader unlocking process like there are for some devices (i.e., "fastboot oem unlock", etc.)).

I think the locked bootloader has more to do with ZTE than T-Metro. I have a Samsung Galaxy Avant which, like the zmax, is a phone that other carriers don't have but it comes with an unlocked bootloader.
 
ROOT probably would've been achieved last month if some LAME TROLLS did'nt drive away the DEV's working on it......man....i don't get...here the lamers would've gotten taken care of immediately ...or at least it seemed as it would......i was thinking ...."MAN...WHERE'S SCARYALIEN ?!?!?!?!!? these dummies gotta GO!!"....lol ...forgot i was at XDA ...

IF!!!!!......I hope ..they're going over all kinds of angles......but,Shabby hasn't made a peep for 2 pages.....I certainly hope the thread picks up interest.....

The ZMAX certainly deserves more attention then the Optimus F6 attracted......

If only ZTE took it's customers concerns in mind with more respect......they're starting to make Huawei look good....
