Root CM 10.1 Nightlies Discussion

yeah i haven't even used it today except to take that screenshot and it is like that everyday, i take it off the charger at 730am and by 330pm to 4pm i need to charge it again.

FWIW, I still get about 6% to 7% drain per hour with 90% time in deep sleep mode on my P930. That looks very similar to what you've posted. I haven't figured out why -- maybe some component isn't going into power save mode properly on some devices.

I find gb phones that had ics hacked, like the d2, had amazing battery life, but these phones made for its have cheap life, which is much worse with aftermarket roms. Apps like juice defender help much more.

tdm, I updated the bug for the bluetooth on jira with a logcat and some more info.

Seems that I can make the bluetooth crash. When I receive a text message with audio notification the bluetooth fails right after playing the audio notification in the headset. I attached a logcat collected during one of these times. Hoping someone will eventually figure out what is going on ;).

I'm just not sure if it's a permissions issue or a shared library or what.

Thanks for all you do! :)

Nice find, Hayneskr! Thank you :)

So installed M3 successfully, as well as the latest Gapps. Got through set up OK, added my Wifi network, seemed to connect OK, but has been going back and forth between blue and gray. Same with 4g... and nothing will connect or download. Tried using browser to go to google, nothing. It is trying to download my apps from Playstore as well, and nothing. Just sitting. Any ideas? I've tried rebooting. Tried toggling airplane mode. Nothing seems to help. Thanks!

Did you wipe and factory reset or dirty flash? I'm guessing you used cwm and manually installed. I would definitely wipe data/dalvik and factory reset unless you are coming from a recent nightly.

I'm downloading now, will check Wi-Fi and Bluetooth once loaded. I am on nightly 4-10-13 currently.

I did all the wipes 2x and then installed. What's weird is, it seems like my data is working OK now that I turned off WiFi. But when I turn WiFi back on, both get wonky and everything freezes.

Also, battery seems pretty terrible so far on M3...

loading now.... Battery has been ok on all the nightlies and I usually update when a new nightly is released..

Checking the code review website and I don't see anything that would affect wifi/cell...

What were you running prior to M3 and did you have any wifi/cell issues? I was running the 4/10/13 nightly with only the known bluetooth issue.

Just finished updating to M3 and bluetooth is still borked. Wifi works and cell works. When wifi is on the mobile network is disconnected which is what it is supposed to do, no? When I turn wifi off the mobile network changes to connected and I get 4g back. Seem to be working on M3...

Perhaps there is a problem with your wifi connection? Have you forgotten then reconnected to the wifi network? Have you tried another wifi connection?

more info on bluetooth with M3 build. Seems the bluetooth issue has changed.
I rebooted phone after M3 update and after initial boot I turned bluetooth off with the Quick Settings panel. The settings menu showed bluetooth was still on... I tried turning bluetooth off with the power panel then the settings menu then the quick settings panel and it would not turn off.

Looked like it was stuck on the turning off or turning on state 11 or 12 I think. Hmmm, different behavior none the less. Rebooted phone and re-paired with headset, received several text messages with audio notification via headset and so far bluetooth has not crashed, knock on wood :)...

Listening to google music via bluetooth now... I really want bluetooth to work so I may be a bit biased, but it does feel like it might be working better, but won't know for sure until I've tested for a bit. I will try turning off and on and see if it gets stuck in a state change. Will report back :)

Things seem to have stabilized since letting it run for awhile. Still not sure about battery life but we'll see after a full day. Can confirm bluetooth is still borked. Once it shuts off only a full reboot will bring it back.

On previous nightlies bluetooth would crash shortly after phone booted up and rarely worked more than just a few minutes. On M3 snapshot I've rebooted the phone several times while testing bluetooth and the only time bluetooth failed and quit working was when I turned it off. It was stuck in a state of turning off or turning on, not sure which. I've received numerous text messages with audio notification as well as several phone calls and listening to Pandora, so it does seem like bluetooth is working better as long as you don't turn it off... seems like a step in the right direction at least ;)

I don't know, something still isn't right with WiFi for me on M3. It is fully connected to my network with "excellent" signal and all the bars are blue. But it hangs sometimes when I try to D/L something from the Play Store or visit a website in Chrome. It's very intermittent though... it's hang for 15-20 seconds or longer, then I cancel the D/L and start over and it goes right through.

Very strange, been messing with it a little more and literally the Wi-Fi and 4g icons will go back and forth from Gray (disconnected) to blue (connected). Just flickering...and then if I go into settings and click Wi-Fi it still says connected to my network with excellent signal...so weird!! And frustrating!

The chip used for wifi/bluetooth is a broadcom chip and I believe the problems that both of us are seeing are related to the drivers/libs for that chip along with changes to the Android source.

What you are seeing is definitely strange and I am not seeing that behavior on my phone.

I do believe there might be certain things or a seq of events that set the problems in motion. I just had bluetooth completely fail and turn off when I turned Wifi on. I've not had wifi fail on me yet. Have you tried a dirty flash?

Are we still needing to get the Gapps? I wiped and flashed the m3 and never installed gapps and it seemed to be ok.....Do I need to get the latest gapps or is it doing like pacman and reaching out for it and installing it?
