Root CM 10.1 Nightlies Discussion

Interesting new error on the 20130327 nightly. When playing Carcassonne the screen will only show the top 4 rows of pixels and the rest of the screen will be black. The screen will fix itself if you turn it off and then back on. I'm going to see if I can spot anything in the log cat later that would cause that issue. Do you have any thoughts on this TDM?

I believe I've found some info concerning the bluetooth problem we are having with 4.2.2. Here is a link to an HTC 3D forum post where it is described with a bit more detail. They share the msm8660 and broadcom components. Seems like the kernel module bcm4239.ko might be involved. Looks like there are a quite a few different phones that used the msm8660/broadcom combo and most are having similar issues with bluetooth. Just trying to help :)

Check the change log....?

Anyone check out 3/29 nightly? I think Bluetooth might be working, I left my headset at home but I can turn BT off and on and hook up to another phone, won't know for sure until I test with audio.

EDIT: Oh happy days!!!!! connected with bluetooth headset, made several calls, listened to pandora, turned bluetooth off then back on at least 12 times and it is still working!!!!

3/29 nightly is pretty solid so far. I've only had it installed for about 2 hours but very nice so far!

That's what they are saying on XDA for the p930 build also. But I don't see any likely commits that would have fixed it....

The only commit I saw was the bluetooth OBEX fix that had been previously removed and then added back in yesterday.... but that is it... weird.... but happy it's working!!!!!!! :-D

I do know that there was some talk concerning cyanogen waiting on qcom msm8660 updates, but I can't find the thread I was reading about that, somewhere on xda...

Yeah that's what I'm seeing too. I put that into my AOKP build and strangely enough it seems to work. Not perfect... I'm still seeing some delays turning Bluetooth on and off... But it does seem to turn on and off reliably now. At least so far.....

Any chance you'd be willing to share that build since AOKP has a fair amount of time before build being released?

I'll try to make one Monday. In the mean time you might try swapping out /system/lib/hw/bluetooth.default.so from the latest cm build.

Nope doesn't work. :(

Hmm, might have spoke too soon, bluetooth shut off on it's own and won't turn back on. Reboot fixed it temporarily but there is still something wrong. It is working much better though. :-(

90% deep sleep with WiFi and sync on overnight on the new CM nightly. Thanks TDM!

Looking forward to the custom kernel firming up but thanks for helping "official" CM as well.

Well I downgraded to GB using the method I found on this forum cwm version, now my data goes from 4g to 3g often. Any suggestions?

Which version of CM should I install? I see one listed as "snapshot" and the nightlies. Which one is the most reliable/stable?

On my phone I powered on and swipe left to jump to camera and start shooting without unlocking. After several days I see black screen with top row visible now. Turned off and on. Saw whole black screen. Had to press Power button once to reboot instantly. Was on 3-31.

True but the recent nightlies have the WiFi battery drain fix in them... I haven't had any issues on the latest nightly except the known intermittent Bluetooth issue...which is also present on the snapshot

i have installed the most recent nightly and still have issues with the battery, i've lowered the governor to conservative and turned the wifi off when asleep and i get a worse drain than when I'm on stock

John,

My battery stats look very similar to yours. I can't understand why I am losing so much battery just letting my phone sit there
