okay hopefully i can fix it up would you know how to install cm12 correctly?

Do you have twrp recovery installed?
That is #1
I believe its linked in the first post
Then put the ROM.zip and gapp.zip on external SD card
Then in recovery
Wipe everything except SD card
Flash ROM.zip then gapps.zip and reboot

is there a fix for the rear camera?
:specsdroid:Hey guys, sorry for the wait.

Newly compiled CM12 Unofficial Beta for Lg Volt (LS740)
I take no responsibility for any bricks or anything you do or don't do to your device!

Kernel Source: https://github.com/arj1231/android_kernel_lge_msm8226/tree/cm-12.0
Dev tree: https://github.com/arj1231/Lollipop_device_lge_x5/tree/CM12
Vendor: https://github.com/arj1231/vendor_lge_x5

Most things work but some things don't. You must remember Cyanogenmod12 is still Beta, and updated constantly. Meaning that something that works in a particular build, may not work in the next.

Still some bugs.... major one being LTE/4g

As Always be sure to have a BACKUP!!!

Not sure what fully works and what doesn't. Feedback welcome.
Thanks to all of our devs for our device. And thanks to our community, you guys are awesome.
ENJOY!:thumbsupdroid:

So I have a the files and I understand the risks. The only apps I use are MMS, KIK, CLASH OF CLANS, INSTAGRAM AND MUSIC. So how would I go about installing this ROM. I Already hav TWRP. How do I back up then install?

Download the rom, gapps, and either boost or virgin apn fix. Reboot into recovery mode. Factory reset, wipe data and cache. Flash the rom, then gapps, then your apn fix. Reboot and everything should be good to go.

Also forgot to mention. Before flashing anything, go to backup and backup everything but cache. Always keep a backup.
Okay thanks a bunch. How would I back up all the stuff but cache? Where would my back up be? How do i access the back up incase something goes wrong? Is flashify a good app to use? Thanks a ton. normally when i have root i just use it for other things besides flashing roms, i tried once two years ago with little knowledge of the android kernel and i messed up my phone and i dont want that to happen again so im being proactive

Backup is done in Recovery, no need for flashify anymore unless on stock trying to install custom recovery. Not to be rude, but if you cant figure it out, maybe flashing roms isn't for you.

Actually I've got it figured out, im using cm12 now and its prettty nice, but why isnt my mms working? it wont let me hit send. i have service though because I can call people

Do you boys have this same issue? after reading I can't seem to figure out a fix for gps.. I have the volt from sprint prepaid. On the 3/26 build and with sprint apn fix also (I thought this build had jfuginay gps fix - unless it's just not working out for me?)

My fix is merely a replacement of the gps.conf file. The gps problem you have is from other files relating to how the camera is used with your hardware/software.

In short, my gps fix isn't meant to fix a non working GPS, it merely improves the performance of a functioning GPS.

I am, however, trying to figure out how to get the gps and camera to work on the recent CM12 roms. There are fixes to be found if you read through this thread. There are a number of lg volts out there which won't work even with the posted fixes, I have one of those volts, so hopefully I can figure something out that works for mine and it will potentially work for others here.

Anyone else seeing the browser cause a soft reboot? It was happening with both stock browser and chrome, pretty often. I also see it randomly with other apps, like the dialer when trying to start a call.

CM Browser from the play store seems OK.

Any thoughts, suggestions?

Otherwise pretty damn great ROM.

Update: I forgot to mention the issues with the keyboard disappearing. I had installed Google Keyboard and it kept auto hiding when typing in the browser.
I think I fixed that by disabling AOSP keyboard in the app settings.

Also, CM Browser still holding up, no restarts.

I turned on traditional tabs in chrome to fix that issue. The lollipop cards are annoying for browsing anyway.
