Root CM12.1 Unofficial Beta

I don't think a clean reflash would help, I'm actually on a totally clean flash right now (after wiping everything but external.) I'll try fiddling around with individual app settings, though. All the notification/alarm/etc. sound I use are on my micro sd, could it possibly be a problem with the external storage?
I've always pushed my sounds to the internal memory or device memory. Less problems with that stuff.

Well, I've fixed one of my problems. Whenever i would restart gteenify would forget I set it up to double tap yo turn screen off, nova prime. I just moved greenify back to phone instead of SD card. Duh! To myself! Now, if I could get the volume up and NFC to work, this ROM would be perfect!

The ROM seems to work GREATLY, however I have notice a few bugs that didn't seem to get resolved. I am currently experiencing an issue with:

-NFC Will Not Enable
-Daemon Will Not Startup
(*daemon not running. starting it now on port 5038 *
cannot bind 'tcp:5038'
ADB server didn't ACK
* failed to start daemon * )
-Rear Camera Does Not Work
-BusyBox Does not install correctly
-Front Camera Light/Flash Is not Recognized By Apps, Nor System (It detects a front light, Which I do not have)

I have searched the web along with another good friend of mine and we couldn't find any proper fix to these issues.

Below are screenshots of some of the problems.

You should still have twrp recovery, so you can just flash supersu.zip to reroot or even just flash cm12
I do, but it's the 2.8.0 for KitKat. If I need to upgrade to 2.8.5 for lollipop, I need either root access and flashify or a zip file to directly install it. I'm deathly afraid that if I try to flash the new cm12 on the old tarp, I'll bork something up good.

I'm not sure how to get the ball rolling for NFC, but I did some research and I want to say it's a driver issue. First off, according to this Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NFC-enabled_mobile_devices#Smartphones), I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the manufacturer and model for our NFC chip is NXP PN547, the same chip used for the LG G3. The LG G2 uses the Broadcom BCM20793M NFC chip, and I figured our device would use one of those two chips listed. It shouldn't be the PN544, the previous generation chip, since that chip doesn't support host card emulation (HCE). I learned that starting with Android 4.4, Google added support for HCE. Since the LG Volt comes with Android 4.4, I figured our chip would include HCE. What sucks for developers is that NXP hasn't released the source code for the PN547, but I read they do have the code for PN544. I did some further research and found out that there are a lot of issues with getting NFC working on devices that have the PN547 chip and are running CM11 and CM12. I'm no developer, but I'm somewhat good at doing research, and I figured that if we could find a way to get the proper drivers working for our NFC chip, we could get it turned on and be able to use NFC stickers and Google Wallet's Tap and Pay system on our phones. Anyway, someone comment on this and give me their two cents on this issue.

As a side note, I tried looking up our phone on the FCC's website to see if I could get some more info on the manufacturer of our phone's NFC chip, but apparently everything's confidential. Here's the link to their page if you're interested: https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/repo...out=500&application_id=976972&fcc_id=ZNFLS740. I wish I could get hold of one of those PDFs. That would probably point us in the right direction.

Hey everyone, as far as getting videos to play from the browser, get an app called Awesome Pop-Video
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.datanasov.popupvideo
It opens up all vidoes from the browser, has an xposed module to handle you tube and best of all it pops up and is resizable. It has been the best workaround for me as far as videos. Doesn't work with hulu or Netflix though..Also..please donate for the features . Its well worth it..I didn't make the app but it sure helped me

Found this line while looking thru some hardware info. Looks like phone possibly has a MiFare chip by NXP.

No, I think MIFARE is just a NFC tag brand by NXP. I just looked them up on Google, and I'm getting results about MIFARE smart cards and tags.

The only thing I think we could do is reverse engineer the NFC driver and other data from our stock rom and modify it for CM12, but with my lack of knowledge, I wouldn't know where to begin. Other devices, such as the Samsung Galaxy S5 have a partial fix for the PN547 on XDA Forums, but it seems like everyone is having an issue getting that chip working fully on CM11 and CM12.

Bad_MOFO_33, can you add the camera libs from whoshotjr2006's CM11 DeCAF ROM? I know this has already been requested, but I'm not a developer and my front and rear camera work on his ROM. Along with video and snapchat and everything else.

I have a new build but havent tested it yet. Updated to build 5.1.1
NFC still broken
ADB still broken
Camera works for me, not sure about others
LTE/Data havent tested
WIFI works

I had to clean flash, dirty flash caused keyboard fc

Do you by chance know the changelog for the 5.1.1? Also, I reflashed gapps because the app store was crashing right before it installed the apps and it fixed the keyboard problem. I'm on dirty flash now. No issues yet

Does this effects snapchat

If a clean flash doesn't fix your problems, then welcome to the club of non-cooperative Volts. How tough are ya?
.... Still staying on DeCAF CM11 until this is figured out. Moto G forum had this figured out but what I can't understand is how to make a cam-libs zip file to use in recovery. I know its possible and I tried to mimic the files from DeCAF and stock but to no avail.
