Root CM12.1 Unofficial Beta

Just wanted to say thanks BadMOFO and whoshotjr2006!...I have been running this ROM from the beginning and its been great! I've learned some things and even tried building once because of your efforts.
I have a moto g on the way, but I will always be lurking in the shadows...

Edit
I should probably thank others and I don't mean to leave anyone out, but we wouldn't have this if it wasn't for those two

Um, what's the expected release date for a stable release? Thank you.
Don't ask. The devs get to this ROM when they can — they lead busy lives just like you and me, and often don't get to any development stuff for weeks on end. The best way to see something fixed is to play with the source code and learn what goes where, and add in your own changes to see if it fixes something.

And in my opinion, this ROM is pretty damn stable already, just a few bugs with CyanogrnMod to iron out.

I get this strange message only on CM 12.1 or Bliss Pop it says APN not specified, but I won't be on mobile data anyways I'll be using Wi-Fi, but no matter what I get that message, than my phone just freezes up & gives that error message? Any ideas as to why & what causes it? Candy ROM never does it? Nor do the Kit Kat ROMs. Thank you all ahead of time for all your hard work!

Why don't you try backing up the APNs from Candy ROM or any of the Kit Kat ROMs and restore the backup on CM 12.1 or wherever you have trouble?

Hello I recently rooted my lg volt and successfully installed cyanogenmod and I'm really loving it so far. The only downside I've found is that videos such as twitch, youtube, playing spotify are much quieter than the stock rom. However, my ringtones are still as loud as ever. Anyone else have this issue?

Anyone else experiencing random restarts? I put this on my girlfriends Volt a few days ago and her phone randomly restarts 2-3 time per day. She's also having some other issues, like alarms not using sound. I'm reflashing it tonight but in case that doesn't work-does anyone have any ideas?
Yes, random restarts. I got a couple the first day I installed it, was sitting next to the device and noticed it happen. It hasn't happened yet with the device in my hand (from what I recall), I was never "doing anything" that might be related to why. It always comes back up fine. I get less than 2-3 per day (or I'm just not noticing). If it was happening in my hand (and I use my device a LOT) like in the middle of playing Puzzle & Dragons, I would be rolling back to 4.4 and doing my best to debloat. But I much prefer the 'pop on this volt. A few niggling issues aside, it's a good daily driver. I use my phone for my small business, too, I wouldn't mess around if it was behaving unacceptably.

Props to the dev on this one. Thank you very much for taking it this far! You've essentially saved me at least $180 on a Volt 2 in order to get specs like this + lollipop (that thing is a monster too, I like my 4.7" screen tyvm)

I'm installing this ROM and following the instructions in the OP. I booted after ROM zip install but I am not sure how to get back into TWRP recovery to finish install of GAPS and APN fix. I can't figure out the manual recovery boot procedure. help

Power + Volume Down. You can also enable advanced reboot in the ROM settings that will let you reboot straight to recovery.

Thank you- I was doing power + volume up. I can now go into recovery manually without Flashify. I'm wondering where in the settings menu the option is for reboot to recovery.

I don't want to dumb down this thread with a bunch of posts but I am still not able to get this thing running correctly. I have been flashing and updating CM9-11 on my HPTouchpad for a few years now so I'm not a newb, but definitely not an expert- I can follow directions.

This is the first ROM I am flashing on the Volt and I am using the steps outlined in the OP:

Flash ROM
Boot
Reboot to recovery
Flash Gapps
Flash APN fix
Reboot
Change SElinux to permissive mode( use kernel auditor or SElinux mode changer)
Pick APN of choice
Reboot
LTE problems should be gone
----------------------------------------------
Right now I keep getting "unfortunately, android (AOSP) keyboard has stopped" error and I can't sign in to Play or enter any text.

I copied backed ups ROM to my PC along with titanium update.zip just incase
I did TWRP factory wipe before install
Flash ROM
boot
reboot to recovery
I don't know what the preferred Gapps is from the 5.1 choices so I tried modular mini then the stock Gapps(they were the most downloaded of the options)

Are the rest of those steps still applicable?
About>SElinux says permissive mode without me doing anything.

Selinux is set to permissive by default now, no need to mess with it.

What you can do about the keyboard is download another keyboard (there are plenty) and enable it in language and input.
My keyboard of choice is google keyboard with privacy settings enabled.

hey guys am I flashing the gapps for 5.1 full modular version? ive got the lg volt on boost mobile if it matters. Sorry haven't done this in a while

Hey I am loving how smooth this ROM is, but my data (2g/3g/4g) is all not working. I had it connected for one day but after that it says the status is network disconnected. I am gonna guess that the problem is probably user error on my part.

My install steps where:
Flash ROM
Boot
Reboot to recovery
Flash Gapps (pa_gapps-stock-5.1-20150329-signed)
Flash APN fix (Universal_vmu_ApnFix-v.R2)
Reboot
SElinux was already in permissive mode for one reason or another
I do not understand where or how to "Pick APN of choice"
Reboot
Install SuperSU from recovery (UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46)

Everything seems to work besides data, including calling and sms. I believe I am just not understanding how to chose an APN, I installed the APN Fix zip, but not to sure what I am missing here. Any help would be great.

Also as a side note, will nfc or ir work in the future? I know the ir is pretty damn proprietary so I am not holding my breath.

I've translated the APN's the best I could:

Boost: Choose this if you have Boost Mobile
CDMA: I'm guessing crap
CDMA 1: Pretty sure that's crap too
FreedomPop EHRPD: 3G if you're on FreedomPop
FreedomPop LTE: Pretty obvious, if you're on FreedomPop and have LTE choose this option
Sprint EHPRD: Sprint 3G
Sprint EHRPD ota: Likely used to receive OTA's (updates) from Sprint, but now it's useless, it's crap
Sprint LTE internet OTA: Sprint LTE
Sprint LTE ota: read sprint ehprd ota
Sprint internet: read Sprint EHPRD
Virgin Mobile: I'm just going to assume if you have Virgin, you select this. If it doesn't work, add the APN manually: https://community.virginmobile.com....ttings-for-Internet-MMS-and-tethering/ta-p/76
Credo Mobile: If you have Credo, choose this
Sprint MMS: HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!!!!
Ting: If you have Ting (I'm going to assume you don't) then choose this
USCC: HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

BTW, to choose an APN go into settings, more, mobile networks, access point names, then follow the dictionary.

To add one manually, in the top right corner you should see a plus sign, tap that and fill in the data.

Thank you, I just forgot how and where to select an apn. Last time I had a custom rom it was on my Optimus V! Thanks for the help.

Just got this installed (thanks for your work btw) & most things seem to be working but for some reason I'm having problems with some apps saying I don't have root, any way to fix this?

Never mind, I missed the setting.

Now the only issue I've been having so far is Google Play Services FCing & same thing with Google Keyboard sometimes.

Not sure if this has been brought up so if it has my apologies. After my phone restarted earlier I installed a logcat viewer & this is what came up after it booted:
