Root CM12.1 Unofficial Beta

Hey guys, I have an NFC test build for you. It's stuck on on my phone, can't shut it off, and logs show a memory access error. Still trying to figure that out, and I'm hoping others can try it and come up with ideas on how to fix. I'll post the source code tomorrow or Friday.

Also, figured out the APN zips may not be needed any more. A few minutes after booting your phone, go in to settings, mobile networks, access point names. If there is a provider list, select your provider. If not, tap the three dots at the top right and select reset to default. that should bring up the list.

Edit: I forgot to mention, I believe I also fixed the deep sleep issue

I was wondering if I can find the help here for something.
I get an "invalid argument" message when I use ramexpander to use my 8gb msd as ram. Also I'm using this ROM on zv3. Any help as for what I may do?

Apparently I broke battery charging. You know, nothing important...

kernel issue, had it some time ago using quarx kernel. kernel/lge/msm8226/arch/arm/mach-msm/lge/lge_charging_scenario_sprint.c should be the file that needs some tweaking

Yeah I broke charging myself in my builds of SlimLP for this. I couldn't get it figured out so I just dumped the boot.img from an earlier CM12.1 build and flashed that and everything's all good. But @Bad_MOFO_33 thanks for that tidbit there, I'll have to play around with that :)

EDIT: Maybe not, as I forgot I don't know C :/

One oddity that I found while putting this together is that if I use quarx's kernel CM will boot loop after optimizing apps (and not leave me any logs either) so for now I'm still on Sanders

I was working on this all weekend and got Quarx' kernel to boot up. Either his kernel has the same video issue or the video recording problem is not the fault of the kernel. I had the same two issues: no video recording and a half working NFC.

Could we be missing some propriety blob?
that's my best guess. in the logcat there's a number of video codec missing errors that fly by, so what i think is going on is the phone is missing the library to encode the recording. my phone isn't exactly in a working state at the moment so I can't track down more information.

Hmmmm, okay. All I know about blinds is that you basically do a system dump of the whole phone on the stock ROM via ADB and add and remove them until you find which ones you need.

Once Tuesday hits I'll be done with classes for the semester, and I can get back onto the dev scene, and hopefully we can make some head on the camera and maybe even the NFC issues.

Just installed cm-12.1-20150919 a little while ago myself, no keyboard would work & the deep sleep fix wouldn't work.
