Root CM12.1 UNOFFICIAL RC5

I honestly would like it if other devs jumped in and helped out, it just that his post made me feel like maybe I was not working fast enough or I did not know what I was doing or something

I think I am being too sensitive or something
downloading now. ill report back with results.

EDIT: so sound is now working through the speaker and the headphone jack due to the zip you just posted. i havent had a chance yet to test bluetooth, but i will later today as i use it all the time. phone calls sound good too. the google music player is having a lot of trouble with most of my songs, depending on the format. i downloaded a new player (AIMP) and it is working perfectly. other than that, the rotation issues still exist and sometimes during calls the screen has a tough time knowing when to turn on (im guessing proximity sensor issue). it also drains battery noticeably faster than stock rom... so far im chocking that up to battery stats. ill report back on that in a day or two.

listen anyone who wants to join in an help is welcome to, and it would be nice to have Phenomx4 on board, I know him and he knows me, he used my ZTE msm8x30 tree to get started with his AWE tree, I ask him for help sometimes, he asks me for help sometimes, he is a very good dev

I do not think he will work on the phone a lot unless he has one in hand to test with.

So if you want to start a donation thread for him to get him a Zmax, go ahead

I am sorry that I am working too slow for you, maybe I should have not taken on this project.

Noooo, I'm not doubting you. I absolutely love the dedication and hard work being delivered towards this device. I just remember a response you wrote saying you knew what the issue was but couldn't figure out how to get around it. I used to build custom ROMs, but they were kang'd builds since I didn't have Linux dual booted on my PC and VM didn't work on my PC so I know how extremely hard it can be to squash bugs. Take your time man, you deserve a little break. I'm just suggesting that you shoot phenom a message if you're still stuck with the audio bug. I'm pretty sure you have everything well figured out, I'm just saying maybe he knows something in the mixerpaths.xml, idk. My ZTE Zmax is being financed, with a deal at $139 after my deposit at T-Mobile. I would donate and help him get this phone but I don't find it necessary since we have you. He could just take a look at the mixerpaths.xml etc.

EDIT: Never mind, you've fixed it. Awesome work, I'll donate when I get paid tomorrow. I wasn't trying to rush you btw, just a small suggestion lol honestly you move quicker than any dev I've ran across. We still have Unjustified Dev on XDA working on a stable build for the LG Tribute and it's been almost 3 months since we had an update to the first build he posted. So yea, you're definitely moving fast

no worries, I just read your post the wrong way

all is good

I am going try this out but which file do I flash the one on page 6 or page 1 or they the same.

I will wait on alpha 2 when you post.

i gonna be posting an alpha 2 soon, with the rotation sensor working good, and the screen power on issue that the rotation sensor caused resolved

I am now using the sensor files from t he ZTE V5 red bull X9180

crap, that sensor messed up proximity

crap, that sensor messed up proximity
another note... GPS seems to be working but the high accuracy option kinda makes things to wonky (in google maps). has a hard time pinpointing exact location, but it seems good enough to navigate around town if need be.

EDIT: i spoke too soon. GPS is not being very cooperative. its a bit of a tease because it appears to be OK until you make demands of it.

I think I speak for everyone when I say that you are amazing and we appreciate your work. I think he was just trying to be helpful. Please do this on your time. I'm just happy any kind of development is happening. I love your build by the way.

you got a right to it..I'd be upset(like it matters)...
you deserve respect..and donations....
I'd help if I could...

I would but I think we should give that money to Hroark right now... All his work got us to where its at now... Just my thought but I'm donating some funds to him tomorrow...
i think we should let Hroark decide if he needs or wants help. he is probably not seeing a whole lot of support from users of his products so in my mind we should support him until he sees it fit to bring someone else in on this device/build.

Does someone want to start a donation thread to buy a phone for this developer? I will if no one else wants to.
Umm if we were to do this.. Shouldn't we contact the dev first? See if he even wants to jump on board? Also I agree with the other user if hroark wants us to get this guy on board to help with CM12.1 development then let's do it. Other then that we should be donating what we have to hroark for the amazing job he's done so far on this rom and the community as a whole. Seriously he's a beast!

EDIT: Also I feel like we should move this talk to the CM12.1 discussion thread. I'm sure hroark is looking for bug reports and what not from users right now here so I don't want us to bloat this post up.

Donations are the least we could do. Getting no sleep while staring at a computer screen for countless hours and generating numerous headaches and frustration deserves the donation. I will definitely donate tomorrow when I get paid. A "Thank You" is good and all but honestly I feel it isn't enough.

all right, this is Alpha 2
https://www.mediafire.com/?61g6zet3k5k39m4
md5sum aa7b94e52f2cb901d7089339ecc82a92

has the sound fixes, and sensor fixes from files I took from the ZTE V5 Red Bull (X9180)

I am not sure if the proximity sensor is too sensitive or not, let me know, not sure if it can be adjusted

basically when you dial a phone number, and it is not on speaker phone, and turn the phone upright screen goes off, if you put phone on an angle it come on, I dont think this is a light sensor, I think it just determines the angle and turns the screen off at a certain angle

also I did a repo sync, so there is a new App drawer, not too sure if I like it or not, not sure how to switch back to the old one, if need be, I can build from the older cm12.1 folder wich has the older app drawer

I will update the OP soon

Something's not right here... I couldn't get my phone to respond to any touches I made on it so I forced it off by holding the Power button. I was about to flash your Alpha 2 zip.

I used Masterchief87's zips to be able to flash ROMs and rebooted to go back into recovery, only to find out I pressed the wrong reboot button on accident. I let it sit through, but now it just bootloops on the 'powered by Android' screen. Still have access to recovery, but I don't know what's caused my device to bootloop.

EDIT: Not even factory resetting solved that, so I'm just gonna restore my Butternoob backup. Hopefully its not something far more involved than that...

EDITEDIT: Restore worked out fine. Gonna try this all from scratch again.

yeah just trying to prevent you from having to download two files

I think i will be putting alpha 2 out soon, if i can get through this sensor issue
You're a
Pretty good dev man, I must say. As much as you think you're working slow, you're actually working pretty fast to resolve so many issues on this device

Having no issues whatsoever right now running smooth as silk all praise to Mr. Hroark excellent work!

**update**
Just tried using camera and when I try to take a pic it snaps like it is bit then no pic and camcorder makes unexpected shutdown.

That's weird. Camera working perfectly fine over here, using the stock camera that came with the ROM and not Google Camera though.

Only issue I'm noticing is the sensors still being a little weird, having trouble getting the device to get back into portrait.
