Root Cm7 1.1

How do you guys restore all apps after flashing? Seems when i log into google only about 1/4 of my apps show up. The others i have to find in app store and re-download.

Surely you guys know a much better way then what my noob butt is doing. Do I just restore a batch from TiBu?

Yes the batch restore will do the best. The market fingerprint on AOSP roms is not the market fingerprint for the TB so you may not be able to find all the apps attached to your account (even if you paid for them) because google may be seeing that they are not compatible with your device.

So I am trying to download apps from market, but the apps just get stuck on "Starting Download". I have a signal, 3G is working, only 1 bar though...any thoughts?

....................use titanium.................I don't let the market try to restore my apps, never had too much luck in it working well

Might work better if you cancel downloads and only download a few at a time.

RC 1.7 is out

Slayher tweeted this will be the last Mecha update for a while as he is moving next week.

Cheers

Slayher is a boss.

I have been having no problems with 1.6.1 other than battery life which I cant complain with 12+ hours on 4g but I enjoy my new builds. Hopefully 1.7 works as flawlessly as the previous did for me. I have not had much time for the forums since the semester started.

If you are just updating do you still have to wipe

not if you are on 1.6.1, you can just wipe cache and dalvik and flash over top. If you have funny issues then you can do a full wipe but the past two flashovers i have had no issues.

I been out of the loop for a bit, I know TW has the kernal manager on the market. but where do I find their recovery program? I only found the one on the EVO3d site, it that the same one everyone else is using?

I would make a new topic but I have the feeling it is a dumb question that will be answered with one reply. :P

@Kanye ;) there is a thread that Scotty started with the zip for TWRP you flash in hboot. Try looking on the second or third page of All Thing Root section

ok, so a couple quick questions, when I flashed 1.6.1, I used the 7-29 Gapps. I see that the recommendation from Slayer is 7-25. What's the difference? If so, is there enough of a difference to wipe for that?

I don't think there's much difference in 7/25 vs 7/29, but I'm not certain.

I do know there's an 8/28 gapps that includes the new market and gmail. There was a link on twitter the other day, but I haven't seen it in the forums. In all fairness, though, I haven't really looked for it either

8/28 gapps

gtalk and camera fix

When I posted that link last night it said changes to 1.7 included changes to audio lib and synced up to the mainline, which, I believe, was the same as previous RC.

Just a quick note. I flashed the 1.7 version about 6 hours ago and so far no issues have cropped up. I just flashed over 1.6.1 without deleting anything or re-installing gapps. My phone booted up smoothly afterwards and it even seems to be running faster in general right now. Hopefully this bodes well, but I'm sold on CM7 even if I have to drop back to 1.6.1. :D

i tried flashing this over 1.6.1 and it got stuck at the HTC boot up screen :( is there any big reason to flash 1.7? i've heard that the biggest thing is that skype audio works now.

^^replied to you in the other thread about your issues:D I think there are some improvements in the kernel if you are still using the old stock one from 1.6.1, those would be worthwhile for the flash alone

Once you wipe cache and dalvik whatever kernel you had is now gone. So if you flashover, you'll have the new kernel

There should be an updated version of the slayher's kernel in the new release of CM. If it is the same he released last week I believe it had some fixes for audio that were no included previously (I would need to look up to see what the fixes were exactly)
