Root CM7.2, How many devices allowed on wifi hotspot?

I run CM7.2 Stable on my Evo4g Supersonic.
I've got a great wimax signal at my local writer's group and want to offer my hotspot up to the members. Does anyone know how many devices can attach to it?

I know the Sprint's paid wifi hotspot worked for up to 8 devices. Is CM7 the same?

well back in the day with cm7, the wifi i believe worked for multiple devices so i'm not sure why it can't work with cm7.2.
