Need to tap into your respective brains again please. Rooted using that tool. Flashed cm7 then moved to minuit but found it chew through my battery really quickly. I'm now back in the gentle embrace of CM7 the latest version (not the nightlies but the latest main version from Rom manager.
My question is does anyone else using it have any probablems staying connected to home wifi? Don't get me wrong it's a big improvement on the stock rom but it drops out every 30 mind or so. A big improvement on the pre rooted every 5 min cut off point. Is there a patch I can download to stay connected or anything? Don't want to go static ip either by the way.

Cheers

Did you try LorDmods kernel? I can honestly say I've not noticed any problems with WiFi since flashing the latest version.

Also, is your WiFi sleep policy set to Never? Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> WiFi Settings -> Menu -> Advanced -> WiFi Sleep Policy.

I'll try the settings you suggested Prez thanks. Can you explain again the benefit of changing the kernel how does that help wifi?

The kernel controls the majority of the basic hardware functions of the phone, power control, audio volume, USB Connectivity and various other things. I'm not entirely sure how/why, but it has been known to sort/improve WiFi too so there's no harm in giving it a whirl.

Hi thanks again, kernel changed to lordmod. Did some more searching andfound a post on xda about the Zyxel wireless router which is the same as mine and this could be the cause of the dropouts!!

No probs, keep us "posted"

Worst joke on the forum ever.

That really is shocking Prez

To put this to bed, i didn't get very far with the router, i think i'll just have to keep with the re connecting the wifi as i when i need it.

Cheers for all the help guys! :)
