Root CM7 available!

So it isn't an official build yet, it is a kang of CM7.2 but with the exception of WiMax everything is working pretty good and is definitely stable enough for a daily ROM.

I'm not at home now, but I will post a link tomorrow. For those interested sooner the thread is on rootzwiki and the developer is Bubby.

It is a ROM that is built from AOSP, so it is stock Android (no touch wiz) also it has no CIQ (google it if you haven't read about it yet, you really don't want CIQ).

It was the first custom ROM on the G1 and has support on a lot of Android devices. It has a lot of nice additions like a notification power widget, easily themeable, 360 degree screen rotation, performance tweaks, lock screen and call answering options, etc.
 
I have CM7 on my Evo 4G and it's awesome. But I think CM7 on the E4TG still has a ways to go to fix all the bugs. I like ROMs that are daily drivers with no issues, so I'll hold off on CM7 for now. I love my Calkulin's V2.8 ROM. :)
 
It does still have some bugs, but it is getting pretty good. Right now the only major one is the lack of 4G and a couple little volume bugs. I use it as a daily driver and don't have any freezes or random reboots at all.
 
I tried the latest release yesterday, and frankly, it is still pretty buggy, compared to many of the TW roms.
Several freezes, couldn't get any themes to stick, and, performance was nothing special..
Bubby has done a good job up to this point, but, this is by no means a "ready for prime time" project, as of now, In my Opinion.

Did you do a full wipe and clean install? I have not had any freezes and I have used a theme for a couple weeks and it works fine.
 
yep full wipe/system format, and everything else that I normally do for a rom..

it just doesn't seem "finished" to me; I know it isn't, but I expect more from a CM7 rom, being spoiled on how sweet it was on my Evo..

Hopefully, it will soon get taken into the CM7 "family", and the other cm7 devs can work with Bubby and get it done completely..
