Root CM7: more stable?

In my local copy, I have text messages working and I can make calls. The java stuff still thinks the phone is roaming, but all the actual values are matching what the stock radio has. Wifi is working enough to load the driver and connect to my local network, but still doesnt talk to anything past my own router (not even other stuff on my network). Internal and external SD work, sound works, bluetooth doesnt work, all the hardware buttons and lights seem to work with the exception of the camera LED. Nothing about the camera works at all yet.
 
Bluuetooth works at least somewhat. It turns on and all the logs it produces match what they do on our stock rom. All the java elements act right when you enable/disable it. I still haven't tried to connect anything to it.

I got wifi working now within my local network. I haven't tested anything besides "ping", but I can ping the phone from my computer and ping the computer from my phone. I still can't ping google.

I need and use BT all the time. I need all functionality of the hardware. If you all are fine with missing hardware and functionality why not just go back to flip phones > :smokingsomb:Tracphone has some nice phone deals for 9.99 - 1000 min for 10.00

cm7 for ov was nicely polished and eventually had all functionality - unfortunately backside IHO wanted to put their horrible ugly and stupid looking Preboot of the choppy graphic android turning around to show its arse. never figured how to remove this

Trying "tagged" rom. All i really want is a clean rom / no bloat or google wallet, the notification bar drop down Power selector - (activate wifi bt, gps easily) and maybe some AB mod to allow me to have 5 bottom buttons

no pagination dots < wtf is the purpose? do you really get lost on what page ur on, on your phone? hit the effin home button jeeze. some of the stupid lil stuff i mean wth?

For people wanting to help out, my device tree is up on googlecode. Just build it, find something that doesn't work that is important to you, and fix it. I'm not really taking requests or counting votes for what I try to fix next. So if there's something important to you, the best way to make sure it gets fixed up to your standards is to get your hands dirty.

On a different note, I've been playing around in the ramdisk and cleaning and pruning services. I think I've gotten most of them out of there that we don't need. If some people want to take it for a test drive, here's a boot.img created by the build system. Download boot.img from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way [52e8aa2bb87749ccdff3ddaa7453c49d] It's built in eng mode, so it has ro.secure=0, adb on by default, and adb will run as root without much trickery needed. Let me know if you find anything that doesn't work right using this ramdisk. Does wifi or bluetooth not work? Does it smell funny? Does it brick your phone?
 
Gps looks like it works now. It shows the coords for my house when I tell the camera to geo-tag the image. I haven't tried any other apps to see how it works with them. I also have the camera somewhat working now. It can take pictures and the flash works. The preview is still screwed up, and taking videos doesn't work right.

But I've taken enough duckface-mirror pics already, I don't need the preview for them anymore. Its just training wheels.
 
So as far as cm, any new word? I like these tweaked stock roms and appreciate the hard work done, but I would like the option for cm!

Is there anywhere I can find you on irc? I came from the samsung epic, so I'm slowly figuring out this phone. But I watched them port cm7 and eventually 9 and 10 and picked a few things up along the way.

Possibly putting eri.xml in the data folder might fix that you'll probably have to edit the eri file but.. should be too difficult. I had to do it for my paranoid android ROM on HTC One V a while ago. then someone made PA JB and blew my PA ICS out of the water...but anyway I don't have many details on it some I'm not sure if that will work :P
