Root CM7 Nightlies

Full wipe install of Build #0 here. Running stock kernel.

Issues I've noticed:

1) Camcorder is borked, won't record at all

2) Vlingo won't run (likely an app issue, not ROM issue)

Every other app I have runs fine.

Neat feature I haven't seen/noticed before - Market automagically redownloaded and installed ALL my apps, not just purchased apps, when I first opened the Market. Pretty sweet.

LOVING this ROM!

Thanks for the info! Gridlock reports this first nightly is nearly equivalent to #54. Final Gridlock build is #55 in which the camcorder has been restored once again. Hopefully the next nightly will include the fix.
 
Ugg... I spent all morning getting #0 up and running. I do not really use the Camcorder much, but I like having the option. Good thing I ran a Nandroid.

I do not get why the Camcorder is broken, again. They know what caused the issue and fixed it... twice.
 
I had the camcorder working in 54 and I flashed RC0 over it. Cam is still working. Are you sure about ^^?
Is it necessary to flash a newer gapps if I have the 12-30 working fine?

Edit: My mistake. It was working and now does not. Rats, why did this crap out again?

I forgot to take a note on the reason for the issue, but Gridlock explained it in the XDA thread when the fix hit on 50.5. I think Slayer or someone figured it out. I am sure it will be fixed soon.

On another note. #0 seems to be pretty stable. A little more so than #50.5. I will probably just keep #0 up and hope my daughter does not do something cute in the interim.
 
Briefly ran #0 on my Incredible, everything I tried worked except I noticed that my Think Outside HID keyboard didn't work. It would pair, but not connect. Perhaps this is well known. I really was excited when that worked on CM6 (had been running stock Incredible ROM). If I can help with that, please let me know. I've not done much Android programming, but I do know embedded devices. Thanks.

I've had issues with this too. Sometimes it works on CM7, but it worked flawlessly on UD 3.0 (granted, running videos was not enough to make it my daily rom).

Only playing mp4 file...overclocked to 800MHz...with nothing else running...on an airplane...and it was Batman Begins, so he pretty much made it work. Cuz he's Batman...
 
I'm new to CM, so please take what I say with a with a grain of salt.

I installed #0 today and have been playing around.

I like the Rom and am anxious to see a more polished version. Hopefully, my post will help in some capacity to refine this Rom.

The issues I've encountered (others have reported some of these previously):
  • No camcorder shortcut or function (video is one still shot)
  • No spell to dial (can't look up contacts from the dialer)
  • Facebook had to be manually linked. If I try to add an account (like with Gmail), it just sends me back to the account list.
  • Have yet to see my Facebook contact photos sync.
  • android.process.media error detailed below
  • Dev Tools>Google Login Service FCs

Here is the error message I keep encountering:

The process android.process.media has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

This happens without me doing anything (occasionally) and will happen repeatedly during certain tasks. If I'm in the Market, it happens continuously and will cause me to back up a step (taking me out of the app or menu I've entered and back to the previous screen).

Anyway, if anyone has any advice for what I might be missing, please feel free to let me know. I'm certainly a rookie to all of this.
 
the cam and wifi are fixed on build two and there are some new mods out on build to as well i am loving it so far just falshed about an hour ago
 
Just Flashed #2

Indeed, camcorder is now functional.

Begun getting the following warning now. It is usually accompanied by the previous android.process.media error.

Is anyone else getting this? I'm quiet lost on how to fix it. Worst thing is that I can't use the Market. Have I done something to my market by Restoring from Titanium? Gonna try running the Gapps Rom again.
 
I just installed the latest build and everything seems fine to me (gps works, camcorder works, market works) maybe its just from flashing multiple builds over each other. Also I didn't use titanium backup or anything. I just set everything up manually.

Well that's discouraging. How did you get all your apps and associated data back up and running? Please tell me that you didn't re-download all your apps. That takes forever.

open facebook>menue>settings>sync contacts, then choose your option.Mine seems to be syncing fine....

I use Titanium. That's why I was saying it takes forever in reference to TheCowGod's comment. I'm gonna try running Titanium restore of just the missing apps and data w/out system data. Hopefully that won't have some conflict with the Market.

Side Note: After just re-flashing #2, I saw that the Market was already there. In the past flashes, I've run the Gapps Rom as well. Was I doing that without need? I'm almost certain the Market wasn't in the App drawer previously.

Yeah, I would try a clean wipe and then restore only apps and data and I'd recommend only installing market apps. There may be some carryover apps that have to do with 2.2 that could bork things. I had to delete a lot of things before making the switch to 2.3.
 
hey guys has anyone here messed with mattyg's mods??? i am running the multi color circle batt and its awesome i have the flashable adblock and i am trying the new font on build two the only complaint is the new font looks SEXY but it is small dose anyone know if the size can be changed system wide to a larger size ic not its gotta go by by :-(
