Root CM7 Nightlies

Looks like they're slowing down on the nightlies... not sure why... but I'll tell ya, 12 is so darn good I don't really care if they come out with anything else anytime soon (though I can't help but check everyday just in case...:D). This build with 2.3.3 is sooo good that it's gonna take something truly epic that it does not currently have to best it.
 
What do you guys think? 11 is running pretty well for me. Only problem I have experienced is with wifi not really working
 
Those of you anxiously waiting for the BuildBot to pump out nightlies, ProTekk over at XDA has been doing the leg work to hold us over. See his posts here:

Been running them since he started yesterday, and they've been great. It's exactly what the build bot would do for nightlies... except he's doing the compiling while BuildBot is out of commission.
 
I'm really digging the nightlies. The one thing I miss from cm6 is the ability to keep the phone from rotating 270. I like to be in portrait when I don't need to type and love landscape for keyboarding and browser. I never rotate the phone to 270 but sometimes it jumps to it. Just want portrait and 90 please. Thank you for all the hard work you devs do.

sorry if this was asked before, but when you update from 1 nightly to another, do you have to re-install apps and re-arrange all your widgets, etc, again?

Wipe CACHE and DALVIK
Install the update

That's it. All settings, apps, widgets, etc will be saved.
 
Wait before you download any build. RC2 just showed up in Rom Manager, but the download errors out. So it may be coming soon.

As far as ProTekk's builds, they've been superb. Was running his latest one with the latest Incredikernal flawlessly.

I'm backing up Build 13, which was running PERFECTLY by the way, as well as all my data just in case RC2 does not go well. I can't resist at least trying it out. Kind of a pain to have to do a complete wipe, but I think it's best to do that when flashing any release candidate. Either way, if it doesn't suit me, I'll flash right back to 13.
 
thats all you man i am on the latest pro build and the only but i see that started on 12 is when using swype you can no longer double tap on a word to change that word it instantly highlights it and then the menu comes up ... then once you get the word choice window you cant pic a work... its actually quite annoying ... i haven't tried uninstalling swpye yet

Exactly. Drives me nuts. You can place your curser in the word you want to change and then tap the Swype key to get alternate choices. However, I have not found any way to delete a word from the dictionary. Very annoying indeed. 13 does that too. If RC2 corrects the problem, I'll post.
 
I can't tell if this is a cm7 problem or a rogue app.

Once in a while, all of my volume settings somehow change to minimum or zero volume all on it's own. Everything, phone ring volume, notifications, media, etc. I'm sure I DON'T have Quiet hours settings checked in Cyanogenmod settings.

This has been happening since #13. Same since #14.

Just wanna ask if anybody else is experiencing this.

i will let you know, i had it working on 11, although took some time and tinkering. flashing 14 right now.

edit: I lied, had usb tethering working on build 11, and yes it seems wifi tether is not working in 14, but i suspect usb tether would work.
 
what is going on here guys i have noticed that the build are really starting to go down hill here is anyone else noticing this about everything from the teathing to the swype word correct and i am still having performance issues and i d k what is going on

Do you have other wireless networks in your area? I couldn't get mine to work, and out of curiousity I changed the channel (was on 1, changed to 10) it was operating on and it started working. I checked some of the networks in the area (neighbors routers) and one of them was operating on channel 1 which I guess was causing a conflict.

only about 10 or 15...

anyways thanks but I have already flipped back to magnolia rom which I think I will stick with for a little while

Yep. I was wondering the exact same thing. Didn't notice it much with 13, but 14 does it ALL THE TIME. It must be a bug. I hope the next build fixes it.

I've not had any problems with wireless tether on any of the builds. It must be an app that's causing the problem.

Just like something is causing LauncerPro Plus to crash immediately after I boot up... once it force closes and restarts, it runs perfectly.

You just need to give the phone more time to stabilize once it boots up. You won't have a force close on launcher pro then.
