Root CM7: Question

Hey guys sorry for another thread about something that I am sure is a easy fix but I am at a loss...

I have been running CM7 now for 3 days and I love it. You guys answered my PRL/PRI question really quick so I thought you guys might be able to help me out with this one as well.

I am running the latest stable version on CM7 w/ SZ CFS Kernel (SBC) and I have a question about that kernel and a few other things.

1) Since this kernel has SBC is there anything I should be worried about as far as my battery is concerned? I have installed the kernel manager that allows you to turn on and off SBC but it keeps resetting to SBC on and I am not sure why.

2) I have found a really awesome theme for Theme Chooser but the only thing it themes is the notification bar and then it resets to default when I reboot my phone. Here is the theme: [ CM7 + ADW ] Araviel's themes [25/5/11] Aerish GTX CM7 2.1 - CyanogenMod Forum (Aerish)

3) I have the latest version of Facebook installed and sometimes it starts over asking for all of my info as if I just installed the app and I have to setup my login and sync info all over again.

I have tried the basic troubleshooting such as clearing my cache and dalvik cache from recovery but it does not seem to work. However I am loving the GPS drivers and how snappy GPS works now :P

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide, I wish the Evo 4G forums were more active over at the official forums but they are pretty much dead.

1. i would not use kernel manager exceot for maybe downloading kernels. i would recommend that you do everything like flashing kernels manually. and as far as sbc is concerned, i have been using is since it has come out and i have had no issues with exloding batteries or such. if sbc kernels would ever come gingerbread's way, i would e there.

2.that is weird. i would wipe dalvik cache and cache and re-flash the theme.

3.fb might get fixed as well with wiping and re flashing of the theme.

The kernel manager was made specifically for this kernel, here is the link to the XDA page: [KERNEL][AOSP][2.6.38.7] - Savaged-Zen v2.2.1! [HAVS+CFS/BFS!] UPDATED 6/1! - xda-developers

As for the theme it's just a .apk file that "Theme Chooser" installs... :/

That's weird that the theme would reset. I never see that issue. Maybe a bad download or something. I think I would also recommend trying out tiamat 3.3.7 as your kernel. I know kernel performance varies from phone to phone but it's the consensus best aosp kernel.

sbc is really not a big deal. i have had an sbc kernel almost always on for 5 months and have never had a hiccup. and even if it doed do anything, batterys are dirt cheap

haha, siting in my room listening to queen For The Win!!!!

I have a question about the market...

Has anyone else has extremely long load times today? I am on a pretty fast connection and everything was fine until this afternoon. All other devices work on my network no problem. I did just flash the latest radio files so I am not sure if that makes a difference as I had these same radios on my old phone I got replaced because of a dead pixel a few weeks back.

try wiping dalvik cache and cache.

just so that we can help others, did my suggestion work? what did you do, if not?

Well I was in the process of redoing my phone so I just started from scratch and I installed everything in this order.

1) Formatted everything and ran the FORMAT_ALL.zip
2) Partitioned the SD card
3) Enabled USB mode in recovery and transferred all of my files (Radios, GPS Fix, Kernel, and ROM)
4) Installed in this order Radios> GPS> ROM> Kernel

Everything works great now. :)
