How's the battery life/stability with that new tiamat kernel OC'd that high?

i keep mine clocked at 1.73 with the smartass gov. so the the overclocking is counteracted by the screen off underclocking so i really see no change in the battery life...
and the stability is good but not perfect (yet) although it got about 10 times better the 1.0.4 that came out just two days ago... and scene the update i haven't had any freeing or random reboots yet ... (knock on wood)

I'm maxed at 2.035 and min at 197 MHz. Blindingly fast, battery sucks crazy when playing games for a while but otherwise, normal use is fine. Only issue I've seen with this is I get random texts from 6250, always saying "vzwmnm: 1" or any other number thru 20. Anyone have any idea what this could be?

I have 2 questions. This is my first time using cm7. My first question is, on htc stock rom changing Ringtones for each gmail notification is in settings while in gmail. It doesn't show now how do I change it? My second question is what kernel and where do you have to bring it to 1.8? Mine only goes to 1.5. Thanks

I use Tiamat Kernal, just put it on your sd card and flash it from recovery. The settings for CPU are under Cyanogenmod settings/ performance. Always go up little by little, sometimes going too high can cause issues. Just because you CAN clock to 2Gz doesn't mean you should.

Edit: Always do a backup before flashing anything, just in case.

There is no need to clock that high it's sure to cut your phone life in half and shred your batt to pieces
