This thread is to discuss the Signal Loss issues that many are experiencing on the CM9 build and to hopefully help the devs troubleshoot and and see if there is something that can be fixed.

Also, if you are experiencing issues, please say what part of the nation you live in. This could be a regional issue.

FYI, I'm experiencing issues on Stock in Oklahoma City.

Edit: Here is what my understanding of the signal issues are, post if your's are different.

From what I have seen, it's pretty similar for most people. It involves getting an "R" in the place where "3G" would be and having no bars. In actuallity, there is no internet connection and no voice connection.

For me, it will transition to this randomly in locations where I have signal. Many have reported this happening when they leave areas with signal, but not correcting when they re-enter covered areas.

No problems here in Greenville, TX... nor when I drove through Quinlan earlier...

Og what's up man glad to see someone close to my area on here but yeah all through in town quinlan I get good sig but its the little areas kinda away from town where I don't get signal and when I lose it and look at my phone my sig won't reconnect I gotta cycle airplane mode

Can you better define exactly what type of signal issues you mean?

Anyway, in CM9 I (almost?) never get 3g.
I always have 3g on CM7 and froyo roms, except for a couple of very specific places.
Newer Sprint prl, older sprint prl, stock VM prl... whatever.
South-central North Carolina.

Having said all that, I'm not at all sure how a specific ROM could possibly effect signal quality at all. I was actually thinking it was just an issue with the displaying of the 3G icon. I need to do more testing.

I sure wasn't having issue with signal with the previous version 0.6.10.3.
It's definitely not an issue with the displaying of the icon either as I would not receive any txts or calls. Signal is definitely weaker. I would have to turn on/off air plane mode to get signal back.

I edited the original post.

I'm not sure if I should vote or not, since I'm not on one of the latest builds, but I will state that I am not having any signal issues at all. Running build 0.6.9.4 and stock PRL.

OK, the past few days I've been having the issue. My signal strength is set to show dB levels, and when it happens it'll show -120dB and nothing works.

Note "Searching for service" on my lock screen.
