Cmon people! How is it?!?!

I'm coming from an iphone 3gs and all I can say is Wow. This phone is amazing. It blows the iphone away in my opinion. I was the first person to buy one from the store today according to the salesman.

Rewd, I've only been playing with it for a little while now but the service seems great. I've had great reception all day.

+1 identical story here. It's everything I expected and then some.

this phone = tits. One of the best feeling devices I've ever owned. the entire thing just feels like quality.

It feels slimmer, lighter and sturdier than anything I've ever used, despite that not being the case. This is a complete testament to how well it has been built. Combine that with it's awesome screen size and there is no way you can have anything not to love.

I second this totally the complete package in a phone!!

Coming from a long line of Apple iPhones I feel that this phone is pretty good. I have had every iPhone that has come out and was in need of change. The locked OS, non-customizable look, antenna problems on the iPhone 4, etc put me in the mood to think about upgrading. I was originally looking forward to the Atrix but once the pricing/Nazi-rules about paying for tethering when only hooking it up to a bigger screen came out, I started to look around.

The more I looked into the Inspire, the more excited I got. So far, it has been a pretty good process except for a few snags that are all ATT's fault (they took me off my unlimited plan and for some reason my data after activation was hit or miss until I used my wifi). Battery life is unknown at this time due to the fact that I haven't really given it a good charge being out and about. The screen is nice and crisp and the phone surprisingly has a lot of power under the hood to make the screen flow nice and smooth. I haven't gotten any lag playing around with any of the home screens. I only saw a little lag when changing live wallpapers I downloaded.

The only issues I have come across regarding the phone itself is that the speakers aren't that great. The speaker phone part is horrible, sounds very tin-like. The normal speaker is ok, but both speakers suffer from being too small and quiet. I could hear my iPhone email alert from another room but this phone I don't believe I could. Just browsing through some downloadable alerts while watching tv proved to be difficult because I could barely hear them. Now could it be from rocking out to Muse, could be.

Really only complaint I have, speaker is not that loud, I mean you can hear it. But put it next to a samsung focus and you will definitely tell the difference!

this would be my 1 issue also... I had the backflip (POS but it was free) was w/ in my 30 days so I exchanged it... the backflip was MUCH louder.

played with the HTC sense lost phone calling thing online and it wasn't very loud at all, same with playing music.

but the build is very nice, I appreciate the metal vs the plastic on the other droid phones i've played with (mostly captivate), I was surprised in the store at how close it was to the captivate size (every so slightly larger both height and width) but the extra .3" screen is HUGE difference... it runs smooth

i'm really digging the HTC sense... much better vs the moto blur.

I think i'll be quite happy with this phone for a while... biggest question will be the battery life, but i'm only 1 day in... my last android got resonable battery life after about the 1st week when the novelty had worn off and I figure out the best settings for it...

After spending a wonderful weekend with my wife, and not much time to really dig into this phone, I've finally got time to play around and get it setup the way I want it. I'm really digging it. Very happy I got it!

I can't take it anymore. I'm going to ATT after work today and putting my hands on this thing. Maybe I will make it my valentine's day gift to myself.

I just retired my blackberry 9700 for the Inspire, and I'll spare you the pinto to ferrari analogy thats soooo played out.

Instead, think Wright Brothers to G6.

I havn't had much time to really play around with mine yet, was a busy Sunday... but so far, so good! I generally hate the UI skins that the carriers put on, but man, Sense 2.0 is really awesome! Tons of beautifully designed widgets and more you can download free from HTC Hub on the phone. The phone is also really "snappy", fast & responsive... feels even faster than my iPhone 4.

I really like the Camera app as well... launches FAST, like 1-2 secs... the Camera app on my iPhone 4 takes about 5+ secs to launch and pisses me off every time.

I also got a Nexus-S in December... let me tell you, even with Gingerbread on it, the Inspire blows that phone away! I kind of think the Nexus-S sucks now and may be selling it, lol. Google should've went with HTC again for the Nexus.

Also, the screen on the Inspire is way better than the Super AMOLED on the Nexus-S!
The NS screen looks too over-saturated and contrasty to me, very unnatural. It also doesn't display certain shades of grey correctly (they look purplish). The quality of the screen on the Inspire is much more "natural" looking, but with good contrast that makes colors pop-out.

Overall, I still feel that iPhone4 with iOS 4 is still a better phone & OS... BUT, the Inspire is a very close 2nd to that, very close! I will be making the Inspire my main everyday phone, at least until iPhone5 comes out, lol. ;)

Coming from an iPhone 3G, I am extremely impressed, both with the speed and quality of the phone. I'm still learning Android, though, and working on personalizing it and installing and placing apps in the home screens.

Well after having the Desire and the Desire Z and now what is suppose to be the same as the Desire HD I am not all that thrilled, the original HD was a metal body and this is nothing but cheap plastic, the internal memory is suppose to be 4Gb and all that is there is just under 1Gb, but you can thank AT&T for that, the download is a little faster than my Desire and about the same as my Desire Z was so it is marginal at best. The loss of my unlimited Data is what sucked the most but I figured it was ok. All in all I would say that this phone is just marginal at best and will do fine if I can find a way to debrand it and get a stock RUU on it so I can have use of most of the internal memory, but after all the trouble that I had with my Z I do not hold high hopes for this phone, this may have been a very big mistake for me, I just was not ready to pay $700.00 for the Telus Desire HD which I would bet is the real HD not some plastic wannabe!!!!

To think that I sold my Desire and My Desire Z just to get this, what a waste!!!!

I thought the Inspire was a unibody made of metal and soft touch rubber on the back. Cheap plastic? First time I've heard this.

While the phone has 1gig of ram it is supposed to have 4 gigs of internal storage. The bloatware takes 3 gigs and leaves you with one. I was a little pissed too.

Wrong. Its not bloatware (only). Those apps don't come anywhere NEAR 3 gigs. It's HTC Sense UI that takes most of it, and you should probably be ok with that since its what makes HTC such a great phone.

Apps2SD for your application memory managament.

I've been using a Nokia N97mini for a little over a year prior to getting the Inspire. My two major reactions to the switch:

1) OMG! This screen is huge! :)
2) OMG! This phone is fast! :)

Apart from that, Android is so different from Symbian that it will take some time for me to learn it well enough to make a fair comparison. The ringer/speakerphone is definitely weaker in the Inspire (the N97mini had dual speakers that were LOUD). Not a concern for ringtones since my phone is always with me, but I'll probably have to go back to using my Jawbone for hands-free rather than the speakerphone.

I'll miss the Carl Ziess optics on the camera, but the Inspire's 8 Mpx shooter can do a decent job if you follow the advice in [GUIDE] Desire HD Camera guide - all issues resolved - xda-developers.

All in all, the Inspire 4G is a great phone at a great price. There will no doubt be "better" phones before too long, but I suspect it will be some time before another hits the same value "sweet spot".

I made a speaker phone call yesterday and I was told to lower my tone as I was yelling lol. I thought I needed to speak up but it wasn't necessary. Speaking normal worked. Also I heard the other person great.

Maybe it isn't ALL bloatware, but my point is that they advertise 4 gigs of internal storage while taking 75% of it. Not a deal breaker for me, but that's not an honest claim if the memory isn't available for use.

I suppose its a matter of perspective. The phone has 4 gb, but most is used for the wonderful Sense UI HTC is known for. As long as you use App2SD, you should have no issues. I downloaded something like 12 apps, one that has 600 mb of data, and I still have 940 mb on my phone, which is more than enough considering.

A lot of companies do something similar to this as well (advertise a certain amount and use a portion of it)

Phone is very slick. I love how snappy it is. I am an iphone4 user and it is just as smooth. Screen is gorgeous, but has a bit of a glare. Battery is horrible!!

How's the battery horrible ??? Everyone on this forum is getting between 8-12 hours some even more how's that horrible? I mean my phone has been off the charger for seven hours and I'm using this puppy and I'm at 78% right now. So huh?

Took me 20 minutes to go from 20% to completely dead last night. Earlier today I had it fully charged at my office. Left for 2 hours and had very light use, except for a 12 minute youTube video and 15 minutes of navigation, and it was down about 30%

I am using video wallpaper, but I am on my iphone4 also.

I don't give a rat's ass hour many hours others are getting. I care about how many hours I am getting. That is how it is horrible for me.

I also have had it plugged in for the last 1.75 hours and it is still not fully charged!
