Root Coheed And Cambria Live Wallpaper

Better?
Lions-LiveWallpapers.apk

Oh yeah! You da man! Only thing I can think of is maybe the logo could be slightly larger, but it's still good enough, thanks

having trouble installing it. Heres what I tried...

1. put it into the root of my sd card
2. rename it to LiveWallpapers.apk
3. Then I opened up connectbot and typed this:

"su" and then I saw the # come on the next line and then I put this in right after the #: "cp/sdcard/LiveWallpapers.apk/system/app/LiveWallpapers.apk"

and it then says the file cannot be found. Is it because I'm using connectbot that its not working? Or am I using the wrong host? (local)?

I would try to abd push it but I have no idea how to do that or where to start...

Agh, Im trying to get my driver installed onto my computer so I can actually use usb debugging to abd push. If I can do that, then I should be able to install busybox on my phone as well.

Can you think of any other installation methods while I try to solve my driver problem? Is it absolutly necessary to be in usb debugging to installit through adb push? My driver works with usb debug off but not on...

P.S. The livewallpaper file in my system/apps folder is actually named LivewallpapersPicker.apk and I tried to use this in place of the just Livewallpapers.apk but still no luck.

LiveWallpapersPicker.apk is just the app that lets you choose which wallpaper. LiveWallpapers.apk is what actually runs.

You can try and manually put the file into /system/app/ using root explorer but i haven't had any luck that way.

And yes, usb debugging MUST be enabled for using adb. If you want to install busy box the easy way you can use droidroot pro app from the market which can do it for you.

I almost did just that last night until I saw that this app was mainly for Droid users, then I chickened out for fear of bricking. So do you think that the busybox installation should work even on my Moment? (I dont need the other stuff)

No i dont think it will still work, i didnt realize you were using the moment! thats prob why its not workin!

Well, I currently was able to download other live wallpapers outside of the market. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work the same? Unless this is a Droid only .apk?

Once I get busy box up, I'll try again. I also am having trouble getting Titanium backup to work. I think busy box is the issue there as well

yeah i think youre right about the titanium backup issue. And i think the LiveWallpapers.apk is specific to all phones and ROMS. If you can get the stock LiveWallpapers.apk from your phone i can try and make the one for you.

By stock LiveWallpapers.ppk, I assume you mean the original zip I used to get livewallpapers running in the first place?

Heres the .zip file I used to get livewallpapers. I then applied it through recovery mode.

https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B1g2...ZGMtOTIyM2VlMGU5Yjlj&export=download&hl=en_US

I think the livewallpaper apk is inside this file so you can just extract it right?

As for the original stock nexus one livewallpapers, (the gride background and colored lines and the one with the leaves on the lake, etc)

I've been searching all over for them :(

Idk man, theres no livewallpapers.apk in that .zip! Idk how the moment livewallpapers works!

Hold on I have to get the other ones then. (I have so many live wallpaper files on my sdcard lol) Can I link you to the htc sense live wallpaper.apk? That works on my phone.

Also, my usb driver issues are fixed btw

Lol yes you can link me to it, and good for you! now you can adb push!

For some reason, I cant seem to get permission when adb pushing...

Having problems installing busybox. First one is when I get to the part where I have to type in:

./busybox

when i hit enter it tells me "permission denied"

I then (just out of curiousity) moved on to the next commands and got all the way to:

/data/local/busybox cp /data/local/busybox /system/xbin

Then I got "permission denied" again! Can anyone help?

I tried to adb push the livewallpaper and the daemon started sucessfully but then it failed to install the app because of "permission denied"

Is this a problem with my particular phone? I dont know how to get permission :(

(hopefully i can get past this speed bump like so many others since I 1st rooted my phone a couple days ago)

This isnt the 1st time Ive had a hiccup lol

Edit: Here is where I got the htc sense live wallpaper: 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download HTC_SENSE_LWP_signed.zip

Edit #2: Okay, I just flashed an updated root version and now I seem to be able to do more. Titanium backed up all my data now. (yes!)

I tried to adb push the live wallpaper again and this time it told me it "read-only file system"

Oh mount the system r/w first
Code:
mount -o,remount rw -t yaffs /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system/

Hi Shizzy...Sorry to bug ya, but I've been trying to load the Cubs LWP you made for me, but can't seem to make it appear. I've used Root Explorer to change to R/W and Terminal Emulator to bring it over to the system file and have done it successfully. However, I'm not seeing the CUBS LWP show up. So, I went into the .apk and don't see the Cubs image in RAW..would you please check the CUBS-LiveWallpapers.apk you uploaded for me and see if it's there? I've been banging my head against the wall trying to figure out why it's not showing up. Thank you again :)

Oh, I'll try that when I get off of work to day at 9pm. Btw, do I always have to mount the system before adb pushing?

Also, if the HTC Sense LWP wasn't what you needed, I can email you my some of my actual apk files from my sd card. I was assuming you could get to the apk of the zip files by extracting them or clicking into the zip file itself. Let me know...

Hopefully, adb push will work tonight though once I get home and try it again with the system mounted.

Thanks for your patience and assistance. :)

I typed in exactly what you have there but it didn't work. It didn't mount the system. It says that it "is not recognized as an internal or external command.".

Did you try it with adb in front of it? Lol thats my fault if you didnt. And the two zip's didnt have a LiveWallpapers.apk or they would've worked!

Also, i usually use root explorer to mount the system cause its one button press if you navigate to /system you can just hit the one button and the system is mounted.

I actually did just that!. I mounted the system using root explorer and tried to adb push again and this time I got a permisson denied. Also, if you send me your email, I will mail you an actual .apk livewallpaper file that I am using now.

Uhh its weird, I actually got the .apk files to transfer INTO my system/app folder, but I don't know how to make them my wallpaper...They aren't appearing under the usual list of Live Wallpapers. Am I missing something?

When I click on them in ASTRO it gives me the option to uninstall, as if they're already installed somewhere (which I guess they should be)

Which one did you use? And it should show up as the normal "Nexus" LWP. I didnt change the thumbnail or anything.
