Coming back with my head down... :-(

There were a fair number of complaints about the original SGS phones being pentile as well - it certainly drove me nuts, and worse than the qHD screens because it was lower resolution, so the effect was even more noticeable. The new SAMOLED+ screens (or whatever they're calling them now) use a traditional RGB stripe, though.

The pentil qhd is NOT THAT bad.
I hear ppl hate on it all the time.
Its a phone screen....its NOT replacing my TV. If I want AMAZING movies then I go buy a $3,000 LED tv...not a $299 phone.
The Bionic is fast, very fast...and GREAT on battery life. Ive had mine since launch with NO major issues....very happy.

The Pentile qHD is that bad - for me. It hurts my eyes to read text on, and that's what I do a lot of on my phone. People "hate on it" for a reason.

Also, I'd argue that your TV would do better with the Pentile display because you sit further back, and the pixelation is less noticeable on moving images vs. reading text or viewing icons.

Just saying, you don't need to defend it. I'm glad you like your phone and that the Pentile display doesn't bother you, but there are substantial flaws in it, and everyone has different levels of sensitivity to the flaws.

very true.
I have no issues...im sorry some do. Oh well

I needed to upgrade a phone so I now have a Bionic and my son has my X. I can tell a difference in the pentile screen, some good and some bad. The pixel look is the bad. However I am using tweetdark and the white text on a black screen is stunning. Also the screen is very bring, I have my screen set to minimum and it is almost too bright in the light of my office and at night it is too bright. I have a feeling in a few weeks I really will not notice the screen as much.

I wonder how the Prime display will look. I hear great things about Samsung displays yet they always look very blue to me. Does anyone else think Samsung displays are too blue?

I'm seeing/hearing rumors that the VZW Prime is not going to be a pure Google experience.

EDIT:
Oops, meant to post this somewhere else, but I'll leave it here too :D

yeah i know, i wonder when they will leave phones alone for us consumers, we never use their stuff, and we will ultimately remove it all lol

I am curious why in the world would anybody pay for Verizon's navigation when Google and Bing are free... what is the point in investing resources on that app and how much money could they be possibly making.

There are some new leaks regarding the Prime... it should be on Verizon first... so there is hope.
