Compatible cases for the AT&T version.

I just bought the case mate tough case and I am sold on this case. I was running late to work this morning and I am running up a wet sidewalk and I slip and eat total you know what. I had my phone with my new case in my hand when I tried to catch myself. The phone must have hit the floor so hard that the SD card came loose and my s2 pretty much said not to do that again.

I took the case off and made sure the SD card was fully inserted and reboot. Not a scratch on the phone or the case! For a $17 case I'm a very happy camper. I got the case here /QUOTE]

Hello Hotfire,

I am really interested in getting Case-mate Tough case for my AT&T Galaxy S2. However when I contacted case-mate about compatibility of their case with AT&T version, I was told by their customer rep that they do not make AT&T compatible cases.
Are you sure that the case you got does NOT cover noise cancelling holes?

Would appreciate your help.

Thanks

Another vote for the Surface from Seidio. Two piece design, snaps together and a great feel.

Another favorite of mine is the Ringke from Rearth. Thinner than TPU (what I've seen, anyway), and slip resistant.

I've got both of these, along with the POP, which I also think is too much case for such a slim phone...for mountain biking...maybe.

Does the Seidio add a lot of bulk to the phone?

I can assure you it fits the ATT galaxy s2 perfect with all the cutouts. I will post some pics later to show hoe nice it looks.

Although having it for a few days now I have noticed some lint building up underneath some the silicone. But its an easy fix with a nice soft cloth.

The case isn't super rubbery where its difficult to slide in and out of jeans but still has some nice grip where it feels comfortable to hold in one hand.

Here are a few pics of the case mate tough case. As the pictures show the top mic is no covered next to the headphone jack. Also the main mic at the bottom next to the usb port also has a small little cut out.

The only thing not used is the lanyard cutout above the volume rocker which was meant for the international version.

Thanks a ton, Hotfire.
The images really helps me in deciding in favor of Case-Mate tough case. As said earlier, I really liked the case, but did not want to get something which will cover those noise cancelling holes. Although I am still confused as to why Case-mate's Customer rep told me otherwise.
Anyhow I will buy it from Cellguru instead of Amazon.
Thanks again.

Is there a good silicone only case for this phone, like the ones for the iphones that are like thin rubber/silicone and you just pop the phone in it? I love the feel of those, grippy in your hand.

one of the main reasons i decided to go with the galaxy s2 was due to reports of how durable it is.

i myself had a vibrant for about 14-15 months. must have dropped it at least 20 times from the waist up, and i can't even find a scratch on the screen. i've even shut the door on the phone, and it's still in pretty good condition (considering that i stopped using a case for it about a year ago). in spite of this abuse, i would rate the phone a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10.

with that being said, i just got my galaxy s2 today.. and im contemplating whether i should buy a case. i mean, it's new to me so i treasure it more than i do my testicles. but i already know that in 8 months it'll feel like i don't give it the attention it needs.. so what's the point in getting a case?

since i need to take pics to sell this phone.. here's a look at the phone that i practically threw around (without a case)

Ok well I ended up ordering a case, however it just came and have to say don't care for tpu rubber, it's not grippy at all compared to the silicone rubber case on my iPhone. Even on a table or surface it slides, where the iPhones case acts like it has brakes engaged lol.

Having a hard time finding a soft silicone case for it though, as in pics they don't look as soft/grippy as the iPhone ones. I don't mind the grip when on a surface so much as the grip in your hand, it's still fairly slippery almost like the stock plastic casing.
