complete noob needs help!!!

ok i'm totally new to all this stuff. i have accidentally updated my brand new hero so i am unable to root. i hear there's a way to go back a build so that i can root. i need step by step instructions (tell me like i 'm an idiot) on how to do this. i would really appreciate it guys!!!

If you read the guide on how to root 2.1, you will see right up top it says:

If you installed the OTA Update you MUST run the original 2.1 RUU. After you do that, apparently you can root again.

Also be aware that apparently they put the update (.6) in the current downloadable file from Sprint so you will have to get a previous copy of the .5 file. I believe that there is a link to it in that same thread.
