Complete phone idiot. Questions about Gingerbread / ICS?

There is a guide in the thread on how to get to ICS. As a matter of fact thats what the whole thread is about. lol. What u need to do at this point is follow the thread on how to get to CM7. which is a custom GB rom that u need to build up to ICS. here is the link once done post back and i can help with any ?s

I have flashed so many roms and gone back to stock so many times I could do it blind folded at this point lol.

Once I find one I DO want to stay on, what do I need to speed the phone up? For overclocking or whatever. I saw that on a couple of the ICS roms they had built in overclock ability to 1.7 ghz. If I end up on a GB rom I'm going to need something else though.

I'm about to try ICS again because one of the AOKP roms says they just fixed a lot of camera issues...lol
 
there is a V6 supercharge script u can run. I run it on AOKP milestone 5. If not sure if any GB roms have overclocking ability. I suppose if they have a custom kernel they can. If they have a tweakable kernel u can use NSTools from market to overclock. If u wnna try the v6 supercharger script heres a link. any ?s as always just post.

I am on aokp m5 now. I liked the blacked out version better but I will probably stick with this for a while and wait for more updates. They did make the camera more stable at least.

In the rom it allows you to set max processor speed to 1.4 ghz, do I stll need the mod you linked for something more? Or will the rom just do it? I told it min - 100 max - 1400 mhz.

EDIT: Nvm, the ICS I have has it built in lol. I just realized it says v6 -,- I have it set to keep 75mb of memory free and also to allow the processor up to 1.4 ghz.
 
yeah thats cool. Ive been flashing around the threads. I found a banging rom that is development. It doesnt look like it will done for a lil while. But its rumored to have the best of everything out there. Ive just been flashing new things like screen transitions and custom themes ported from the Gnex.

So once this is done (looked at it, looks like something I can do). Where do I go from here? This will put me on CM7 and a "stock looking" GB ROM correct?

Is there a guide to go from this to a current (fully functioning) ICS build?
 
yep. just read through the thread there r step by step instructions in there. if u have any ?s just ask ill be around.

I have been following your post on this thread. I have a couple of questions. 1. What is (ICS)? 2. My computer will not recognize my Samsung Fascinate. Using the same cable it recognizes my LG505C. I have dialed **87284 and selected modem.
