Root computer won't read usb card

After root I can't get the phone to mount to computer. Even of you remove the card the computer doesn't recognize it. I can't even format it. I can't load music don't know what to do. The phone scans it and everything is good just can't see it on the computer. Don't know what to do.

Edit: Odin don't recognize it either

This is DL09 and new root right? Sometimes unplugging the usb cable is all it needs. Sometimes a reboot helps. Also make sure your usb debugging is on. And if all else fails try this app turn off the media scanner and then back on, might help as a last resort Rescan Media ROOT - Android app on AppBrain
 
Rebooted computer, phone, uninstalled samsung drivers and reinstalled, can't get the computer to see the card even out of the phone. unpluged the usb a dozen times. media scanner can't disable scanner
 
NO I rooted last night but tried to install the one thing that I want the battery app. and now I can't get this to mount

What happens if I partition sd card in rom manager it says it will wipe all data off. What all will I loose... Everything I am guessing

wowza did you try a battery pull? or maybe cache wipe? I dont know what to say root should not disable your scard mount
 
Yea I know... I wiped cache and now I'm restoring the phone to last nights back up. I'll pull the battery after it loads. If this doesn't do it I will try to wipe it with rom manager and and start over.. WOW I have tons of music on that card...
 
Are you unmounting and remounting(through phone settings) each time you pull the SD card? Does the SF have options for plugging in through USB?(like data connection, tether, charge only)

My crappy old card read wouldn't read the stock 8GB card that came with my EVO.

And just to clarify, when I plug in my EVO through USB, the card doesn't show up, the phone shows up, but you can access the card by clicking on the phone.

My guess is bad card reader and ^^ that problem combined
 
Got it working... The only thing I can think of is my kernel I loaded was geeknik's low voltage overclocked and it didn't work. I am now on stupidfast 1.54 and it works. Maybe my phone is unstable with a uv kernel? I don't know but I'm really relieved. Thankfully I do a backup every time I change something.
 
my SD card is not being read by my PC at all and only intermittently by my phone.

I got my OTA DL09 update, then wante dto root so after trying 2 different clockwork packages, I used this older one from xda that supposedly has a kernel built in

I got root but my BT, BW and vibe weren't working.
Also, my SD card isnt being recognized by my PC at all and only intermittently by my phone,
so I installed imnuts 1/15 stock voltage kernel figuring it would help.

Still getting FCs and no SD card love by my PC

Should I go back to stock...I wont even know where to begin...Im a perennial newb! :o
 
Apparently it's some of Verizon's bloatware trying to monopolize the card. Super Clean should fix...

I put the card on my computer and placed the file on the card that way.

this superclean seams good but my phone still isnt being recognized by my PC which sux bc I use pdanet a lot.

Anyone think a new kernel will help/hurt?
 
My card isn't being recognized by the computer even out of the phone. I don't understand at all like the card is bad but the phone still reads it.
 
Ok rerooting now to see if it helps

Edit: no help I went through all of it and still no usb. Does Odin just push files to your sd card or do they install them when they are flashed. Can I transfer music through odin and then move it to the appropriate folder with myfiles once installed?
 
I have the same problem on my mac running 10.4.11

My PC running windows 7 reads the sd card fine. The mac will not since I rooted today. I have the DL09 update installed also.
 
It's not the root that is causing my problem, I rooted yesterday, and then found the problem of the sd card not reading on my mac running 10.4.11. I thought it was the root that caused this until I read the link from speefreak. I plugged in my wife's un-rooted fascinate that is running DL09 and found the same problem. Since I had not plugged my phone into my mac since updating, I assumed it was because of the root.

Verizon has messed this up. Not my root. That also explains why whenever I plug it into my pc, it wants me to download software. F-ing Verizon is still having the last laugh on me. It does still work on my windows 7 pc though without loading any software.
 
I have been reading about this all morning and it seems to me that this problem is caused by some lame crap they loaded on my phone. If that is so, perhaps some of you savy android folks would know what the name of the file is and we could freeze or delete it.

adrynalyne has tried modifying kernels with all the cdrom crap taken out and it doesnt help at all...its just another sammy screwup :(
 
Well I am sure it is a sammy screw up now but the first day I posted this I done a back up to my first nandroid and it connected instantly. I transferred a host of roms and kernels so that I could load them and try them out and haven't got a usb mount since then I have done everything. Makes me what to strangle someone with the usb cord. I was officially happy with this phone for a few minutes then this>>> BAM back to regretting a samsung
 
I finally got mine working correctly, but I had to wipe everything, install DI01, then upgrade to back DL09. Pain in the ass....

Done the same thing... Wiped it clean and started over.. Phone is actually faster now but it has NOTHING on it.. LOL And connects like it should..
