Root condemned cm7

are you sure you flashed it BC? :eek::p:):D

my initial reaction was: wow! :D

i dont know if there is any actual improvements in "speed",but there are very definately improvements in responsiveness. the phone defiantely feels quicker and a lil more fluid. :cool: the app drawer opens and closes like BAM! and i feel like i can slide thru the homescreens faster,even with my funnky transition animation set.

its noticably faster waking up,as well. after sitting all night i when i woke it up it was like "hey scott wat took ya so long?!" :D

edit: metl,you need to sneek into a closet or somethin and flash this :D

That's all that is in there so far BC. I'm going to pu a bunch of other stuff there too. Just trying to rearrange things and organize it a little better :). Lol. The animations are all back on after changing the build prop is why you're seeing the screen off ani again. They can be turned off in settings if you so choose. I chose lol. For some reason animations annoy me :eek: I'm going to have the apks for my CM7 themes as well as the roms and some keyboards, my wallpapers, the zips for my sliders and a bunch of other stuff in the DropBox. I just need to organize it first :)

It sounds like the changes are for the good for you guys and it wasn't my imagination so far then... That's a goof thing, I'm glad to hear that ;)

Wonder how kpg made out... and BC is right... She never did say if she's blond or not :p LOL.

I'm curious for metl's test on it with LauncherPro. I know a lot of people use that launcher and it's been a bit laggy on the CM7 rom's. Hopefully this will improve things some :)

Hold on to that wireless tether .apk app CS because verizon had it taken off the market.:eek: I still have it on the phone put it don't show in "my apps" in the market. Scotty did you send that link to CS too? And I'm using ADW.

Nope dint have his number or I woulda. Effn verizon :mad: wats weird is other wireless tether apps are still there. I noticed barnacle was still there,for one. Not sure why they pulled wireless tether and not the rest :confused:
 
Flashed. Doing well so far. Market seems to be working just fine this time for me. Left ADW on and did not replace with LauncherPro. Had to replace original wallpaper. It was too busy for my ADD! ;p

So what is the concensus with JIT and Surface Dithering?I have both off right now. What has worked for you guys?

I also have Smartass Gov. enabled with min settings - 480 and max - 710.

I pay them for two smart plans and a mobile droadband. Damn ain't that enough. :(

Glad to hear it went well for you this time :). I'm suggesting JIT off at this point and I leave dithering off as well. JIT is going to be defaulted to off in the upcoming updates based on the way my tests are going so far. You'r CPU settings are the same as mine but I've been using OnDemand gov. Some like Smartass better though :p
 
glad to hear it went well,also. :cool: ive also got jit and surface dithering off,and a setcpu main profile of 245 min/748 max :eek: with on demand governor. got 1 profile for screen off at 245/245. i tried no profile,and when viewing the "time in state" i dint think it had been spening as much time as it should at 245,so i added the screen off.

have CS PM you the link for his test zip and flash that after you think youve got your phone running aw well as you can. make a backup just in case,but the changes hes got are very impressive so far,i think youll like them :cool:
 
My settings are:


Smartass
480/710
Jit - off
Compcache - 18%
Surface dithering - off
Allow purging of assets - on
Lock home in memory - on
Lock messaging app in memory - off
VM heap size - 16m

And it's fast.:D

Also I haven't used setcpu since gsb.

So what happens when we switch phones? (re: Wireless Tethering app) I assume Titanium Backup doesn't care what phone you're on as long as your apps are still supported by the OS?

I'm really liking this ROM. Very snappy and responsive. No black screens. Everything seems to be working very well! Bravo!

First day and everything is fine. Market is fine - on the first install, I had one app that gave an "insufficient space" error, but the second try installed fine, as has everything since.

One minor, minor thing that I noticed is that the initial Google app install (I chose not to log in to my Goog account during initial setup, by the way, so this was on my first open of the market app after setup) did not complete - in the middle of the Google Maps install (that one takes the longest), the market just closed itself, and the Google Maps app stopped installing. I thought it was installed, but found out today that it never did. I suspect what happened was that the market app itself was updated, and that was why it closed. And this market behavior happened each time I tried - I ran through the initial setup three times last night, after I was having issues with that first build.prop patch.

I did receive my first phone call and it did not respond any faster than GSB does. From first vibrate, letting me know that the call was coming, to the point that I could see who was calling was several seconds - probably about four. At some point I'll call my own phone to see how long it takes to respond, in terms of rings from the caller's point of view. Just to note it, my slot cycle setting is set to 1.

Nothing else to note - and that's a real good thing.

I noticed that, too. Then I turned that off, right away.
