Do you know if she was flashing c2c? I wonder if she was and should wait until after the first setup of everything instead of flashing it with the rom and gapps?

im actually not sure if she was having the same prollem or not... she said it was looping when she tried to open the market... so it sounds like it. trouble i had was this: market opend fine. downloaded apps fine. when the apps tried to install,it went back to the skateboarding aliens.
i had a market force close or 2 when i tried to go to my apps in the market during the initial sync,but afterward it was fine.also wonder if shes skipping the market setup thing? i skipped it during the sync... maybe thats part of the prollem too? maybe she needs to skip the google setup thing,then wait for the sync to finish to open the market...
in other roms on other phones,market force closed are often fixed by opening the market and leting it force close 4 or 5 times
guess she might also try and fix permissions?

Fix permissions is in rom manager... I took that out
lol. I went ahead and used the market setup in the beginning and had no problems with it but I remember on Tazz's rom in the earlier releases skipping that always seemed to help resolve some market issues for some reason.. possibly some sort of CM problem hidden in that somewhere? Looks like it's time for me to do some more research.. I'm going to be testing some other things soon also to hopefully improve the incoming call response and a few other goodies 
Also... I have JIT on by default with this rom and I've been messing with it some lately.. Are you guys leaving it on or turning it off? I think it seems better off... If you guys don't mind trying it each way for a bit and let me know if you get the same results? I might turn it off in the next update...

theres "fix apk uid mismatches" in recovery... is that the same thing? if not,what is it?
ive seen claims of it making the phone laggy,and ive seen claims it makes it smoother. i personally have never felt like it made a difference one way or another in any of the froyo/GB roms ive run. i tend to leave it on now,since they are based on its concept,unless the rom developer haS left it off by defualt. i dont bother to check heap size,jit,or any of those setting anymore,lol.
i just checked it off,and did a reboot. ill let you know ifn i find anything different
edit: first impressions are it actually seems alittle faster... maybe even a lil smoother. ill see if it changes after awhile

I'll turn JIT off as well and report back.
I wonder if kpg was having problems because of Verizon's network problems. I've been having some weird market issues today and have had texts that I never sent being sent to my parents. I was also having problems with gtalk yesterday. Wifi clears up all the 3g-related issues.

The issues with Verizions network the past few days could very well be a good part of kpg's problems the other day. I think they have things mostly cleared up now if she were to try again. Another thing to try could be to skip the initial setup and turn wifi on then go into accounts and sync and setting it up over wifi.

Just wanted to share this from CyanongenMod with you guys.
If any of you have data that you must absolutely save, then and only then should you use Titanium backup (or other backup apps) to restore your data. Please be sure not to restore any data to /system using these apps, as this will mostly likely corrupt your ROM and/or Market.
On a side note... This morning I'm having some Market problems myself. I'm not sure yet what is going on but I'm going to try and find out. Just want you to know in case any of you are experiencing this as well... I try to dl something from Market and I'm getting android.process.media force close as well as a force close on the market. I'm getting it on 3g as well as wifi so I don't think it's a network issue in this case. Just wanted to post that in case anyone else gets that as well.

Thank you for adding that. I don't use Ti so I'm not familiar with all that. But yes.. anything that's normally in system versus being stored in data. I also believe that it's if the backup was made from a 2.2 or 2.1 rom. I think if you backup from a 2.3 rom it might be ok. I can't swear to that though. I just thought that it was a worthwhile piece of information to share
