Root condemned cm7

@metlcat... is that the first time you've had the freeze up like that? I'm wondering what may have caused it... I have my alarm go off 2 times a day every day and haven't had that happen to me... I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed that it was an unusual event that won't happen again...

I've had similar problems in the past with GSB and less frequently with this ROM, but never to that extent. I've had it where everything was really really really slow and widgets were frozen, and I've had it happen overnight and the alarm still went off, same as today. I've never had it become completely unresponsive thought. It's been close, but not quite. I didn't try using the power button to restart because I just wanted the noise to stop.

Like I said before, I wouldn't blame it on the ROM as I've been having problems with extreme lag and widget freezing with every cm7 ROM I've tried, but I've had fewer of them on yours. I'm convinced it is an app that I have going crazy, and I've just gotta figure out which one.

I'm looking forward to an update as well. I need something to distract me from studying for finals.

KPG, feel better soon.

:D I should be uploading soon... got wifi working and just gonna check over the other things that I was having issues with before to make sure they are still good now too. :D

This will need a full wipe as well... Sorry lol

I'm sensing an end to my studying tonight...

So, what could go wrong if we flash the newer gapps?

Nothing that I'm aware of... I just don't like to link something that I personally haven't tested. The biggest thing holding me back on them is that they aren't on CM's site... I'm sure they are fine if shed has them posted but I haven't used them so I don't want to post them myself.. I know people have used them and said they worked fine but I've also seen where some have used them and then reflashed with the 3/7 gapps because they had problems.

CS,

I loaded v6 this morning and it kept freezing and rebooting itself. I did a full wipe. I think it's something I did tho. So I went back to GRE. Are you going to do an update for GRE?

Whoops GRE frooze up. It must have been v3.5. Don't remember now but one of those versions ran 787mhz.

Oh lol. I thought it was going it on the initial bootup lol. I didn't realize any of the ran ok that high  v6 seemed pretty quick at the stock settings .... seems like I have to stop the screen from scrolling now lol. :)

Flashed v6 last night but too tired to set everything up. Set everything up this morning and all is running well.. very snappy and responsive. Love it! Great job, CS! :D

Im trying to flash it but my phone is being annoying, it wont do anything like nandroid backup, or even let me go to USB storage

Is your phone charged? I believe you have to have at least 40% before the phone will make a nand backup. It is highly recommended that you charge it all the way before doing things in recovery.
