Help connecting DSLR camera

I have the HTC DNA and I want to connect my Nikon D90 to it.

When I connect, nothing happens and some of the menu option are not accessible on my camera.

I'm using a mini USB-OTG cable.

Is there an app that I can download to get the camera recognized?

Thanks,
Ricky

I just tried to connect a memory card reader to the USB OTG cable and nothing happened either. The only thing that has worked so far is the PNY flash drive.

I'd there something that I'm missing?

I would really like to avoid getting the more expensive eye fi card for the camera.

I can't imagine that the DNA has the drivers required to communicate directly with a digital camera.

As for the card reader, that should work (it des for me). Did you use something like Astro to explore the card?

I'm using ES file explorer. I'll give ASTRO a look.

When you connect your card reader does it display any message?

And are you using a USB OTG cable with it?

I get a message about not being able to charge. I am using an OTG cable that came with my Acer Icomnia tablet.

Still nothing even work the other program. Not sure what the deal is. How does your's display when you are in the file manager program?

I don't remember exactly, but something like My Files 2 or something is listed. I am not going to try it again because it wipes out/corrupts about a half dozen apps every time I connect it to my DNA. I have no idea why, but I won't be trying it again.

Ok thanks for your help.
I ran into an error with ASTRO where it caused a keyboard error.
Had to restart the DNA

Try using a powered usb hub, like one you plug into a wall for more power.
My phone works with an otg cable, but only with a powered usb hub.
The power output on the phone may not be enough to power the camera/card reader.

Ok I'll have to try that.
So do you first plug your camera into the powered hub then the hub into the OTG cable?
I really want to maintain portability so I might consider the eye fi cards.
