Help connecting my samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket to my car

Louis B

Lurker
I have tried to get my galaxy s2 skyrocket to automatically connect to my car when i get in. Sometimes it does and sometimes it does not. I have a 2011 mercerdes e350 does anyone have any idea? It will connect if i do it manually on the phone

Hey Louis B and welcome to AF :D

I've moved this thread over to the Skyrocket forums, the folks here should be best qualified to help you with getting your phone and car to communicate ;)

If you've recently had it connected to a computer, you will probably have to restart the phone before it will see your car system. Seems to be an issue. It likes to be connected to whatever the last thing it was connected to was.

I assume you are referring to Bluetooth?

Unpairing from the car and the phone ...deleating entirely and then are pairing via the car manufacturers specifications (specific order) seems to fix this. This is an android vs car issue from the research I have done....it is not strictly a skyrocket issue

Ah. Bluetooth too? I was assuming it was the same USB issue another car user had recently reported.

I have this issue with my car too. My car BT is a grom unit installed by me though, not oem. What I find works is if I start playing a song within a minute of starting the ignition, I'll always connect right away.

I actually ran across an app in the market today that claims to fix this

Have not tested

I had the issue both before and after rooting the phone. The app says root only, not sure it will help everyone or not. Definitely post if you find something Mr Ed. I've still been good with just leaving BT on and I was gone for a few days here and there and always connected to the car when I got back, which is another thing I had noticed. If I was gone for a few days and turned BT back on when I got home it wouldn't connect.

Same issue. I have a BMW 328i and everytime I get in, I have to manually resync. Totally blows cuz my iphone remembered it. I also have the integrated phone system so it plays the calls through the speakers and is very convenient. Since my SR, I rarely sync it and end up taking calls on speakerphone which is quiet and horrible...

^have you tried unpair/pair and or checked with bmw specifics regarding pairing order (initiate on car first vs phone)
