Help connecting to open wifi problems

Hello, newbie to android here. I work at a hospital with open wifi, my old phone (and everyone around me) can connect to the open network, but with my new galaxy s2, it says I'm connected but redirects me to a website w/ broken lock and says something about installing java applet. ATT says not their issue. Very frustrating. I've checked all the settings on the phone, and everything is enabled. Any suggestions appreciated, I spend a lot of time there and it's killing my data plan as I have to turn off wifi while at work to access internet.

That sounds as if there's some sort of log-in page required to load. Is this an AT&T-branded Galaxy S2? If so you'd be advised to ask about this issue here, as I've certainly never encountered this when connecting to open wifi APs. I wish I could be of more help. :(

This is the error message I get both att and the it dept at work say it's the other's issue...
