Root Constant internet connectivity

As in, always connected on 3g? That's the way it is unless you turn on airplane mode...

Yes, that's what it is. So this is normal for rooted phones? Before I rooted my phone, if 4g was turned off then I wouldn't be able to go online at all. Just wanted to make sure so I don't get hit with some ridiculous bill next month.

That's odd because even before root, if you turned off your wifi and 4g, you still should have had a 3g signal at best. But you couldn't connect to the internet before rooting? Are you on a custom rom now? Or the stock rom?

Before root I couldn't connect to internet at all if 4g and wifi were turned off. Think I am still on stock rom. All I did was root and now I am trying to find a stable version of ICS

wait 4g is turned on even though you have it off? that is weird......must be draining your battery like no other if that is the case. you sure that what your saying is correct? how do you know?

hopefully, when you flash a rom that it get fixed.

If 4g and wifi were off, you should be connected by 3G. Either you:

1. Have your mobile data off also. Or

2. Have a very weak 3g connection (which is acutally normal for Sprint).

I don't know how accurate the widgets are but there are widgets that allow you to turn on 4g and wifi. I have both of them off and couldn't get any data connection. After I rooted my phone, I have a constant 3g connection even though both of them are off.

I don't know why you had that issue before...you shouldn't have. But now, from what I am understanding you to say, that is the way the phone is.
I can turn off 4g and wifi, and still have 3g to connect to data (internet)
