Emailing with LG is futile.
Me said:I have an Optimus Elite and it always displays 3G even when it is on 1xRTT. I can tell when it is on 3G because it gets hot, so hot it is borderline uncomfortable to hold and the battery drains. I downloaded an app which took about 10 minutes and during that time my battery dropped about 25%.
I need to know how to fix my device so it displays the correct mobile network and so that it is usable on 3G.
LG said:Good Morning, MacFett!
Thank you for contacting LG Electronics. I am so sorry for the inconvenience you're having thus far, I understand your frustration, but please allow me to assist you as far as possible!
Barring getting a new Optimus Elite from Sprint, the first thing to do is actually reset the Network by simply removing the Battery from the Optimus while it's On, putting the Battery back on, powering up the Phone, and looking for any changes.
If this fails you then perform a Reset on the Optimus according to page 84 of your Manual.
If both of these fail you, then you are always more than welcome to send your LG Phone in to LG for Warranty Service if you wish.
LG can fix your issue but it would require that the Handset be sent in to us first to determine whether it meets the Warranty requirements for Repair/Replacement.
As you may/may not know LG has provided you with a 1 year Warranty good 12 months from the Date of Purchase if you are uninsured through your Carrier, and are unable to get assistance by any other means also.
To have your Phone serviced with LG please feel free to contact LG toll free at 1-800-243-0000 anytime, day or night so that we may proceed to set up a Return Authorization.
You'd also need to have your ESN/MEID handy which can be found on the white printed label on the inside of the Phone once you've completely removed the Battery and its cover from the back.
I hope this information helps, thank you again for contacting LG Electronics, it was my pleasure to serve you, many thanks for being an LG Customer, and be blessed!
