On my Hero, when I first got it and set up my facebook accounts, it automatically synced all my facebook friends that had something in their contact info including the ones that put "just ask!!@@!". It didn't really matter to me as I already had most of their numbers but it also synced their pictures and some of them had some rather... embarrassing picture. Pictures that I didn't want strangers seeing when I received a call from some1.

Is there anyway to remove someone's contact pic, even if it's from facebook? I tried myself but couldnt find a way, thanks. I'm a tad too lazy to delete the contact then type in the number for those several people :P
 
I don't use Facebook, but if you open the People app and click on a contact then on the Linked button next to their name you should be able to unlink individual account providers such as Facebook, Twitter etc.
 
I don't think you can tell it to only sync numbers without pictures too.

Perhaps you can just assign a safe picture to those contacts your self?
 
Open contacts, select person (as long as that contact has a phone number stored) you can then go to menu, edit contact, hold on picture and a contact icon menu will come up with the choice of, use this photo, remove icon, change icon.

You can take a picture or use any picture in your photo gallery. You can have a default picture and use it for any contacts you wish to change.

I have my phone rooted and running 2.2 and it work fine on mine.

If the only information showing up under the contact is facebook this will not work, as it has to have a phone number to work.

In the facebook app after you open it, return to notifications page (not sure that is what it is called, but has news feed, profile, friends, etc.) Choose menu, settings, scroll down and choose sync contacts and choose to remove facebook data.
