Help Contacts syncing problem

I lost all my contacts from Go Contacts Ex (my default contact manager) this morning. It wouldn't recover them. So I deleted the hotmail account that houses my contacts and re-added it. Now, everytime it resyncs up with the Hotmail account, i'm getting multiple duplications of the same contacts. The contacts only reside in one source.

Any help in trouble shooting this?

Are you sure you aren't set up to also sync with Gmail contacts? Also, check with the Verizon backup assistant. That me be reloading saved contacts. Finally, go into settings>apps>contact storage>clear data. This will delete any contact data on the device in the contacts app / people app.
