Root could i please get a step by step

could someone please give me the step by step on where to go to do this......#2: If you choose to Over Clock the rom, you must edit the sleepmode tweak in build.prop, the value is set at =1, you must change that value to =2 for better performance

Ive never heard of this but the buildprop is in the system folder. Just long press select edit, and then find that line change it,save it and reboot

I dont know in what xml or whatever that would be in but I do know that if you have rom toolbox...there is a free version in the market...that under the performance tab the 4th box down is build.prop editor you click that then you scroll and find where it might says com.sleepmode.blah or what ever then you can click that and a dialog box will pop up and you can change it to whatever youd like. Although I have not heard of having to do this for the lg esteem for any of the custom roms out so far. You could try this until someone smarter than me answers so basically anyone else that answers! =)

look it's not required, it just reccomended.. the 1.6 pre release is set to 2 by default, want to test how much of a difference it has on battery :D

but it's just something i read in a few threads that if you use that tweak and decide to overclock than it is reccomended to change that setting from 1 to 2

o i understand that lol i actually meant to answer your question but got carried away in last reply lolol, easiest way would be with rom toolbox like mentioned above.. there probly other way but i would pull the build.prop from the rom, open with notepad++ and change that setting, save than push to device with adb... but if you have no clue what im reffering to than just do the rom toolbox thing lol im too tired o explain adb right now :/

my next step is to learn commander thats what your talking about right?

Commander is push/pull but not through straight ADB/CMD.

Commander is very easy to use. Phone files is on the right side and computer files is on the left side. Copy/paste push/pull all you want. You can even install apk's that you push to your phone instead of rebooting for them to take affect.

I couldn't live without commander.
