Couple of noob questions

Hey guys, just got my Desire and so far im loving it, but i have a couple of pretty meanial questions i could use some help with, firstly is there a way to move photos OUT of the All Photos section in the gallery, i have ASTRO but i cant seem to make much sense out of it. Failing this can anybody recommend a solid app for passwording select photos?
Secondly is there a way to make the display come on when you receive a text?

The option to move files in Astro is hidden under "edit". Long press on the file to bring up the menu, select edit, select move. Go to the folder you want to put it in and choose paste.

There is a "multi" button on the top bar which can be used when you want to operator on a number of files at once.
 
in regards to photo's what are you trying to do? If you move them eslewhere, the gallery will still find them.

If you want them to NOT show up in teh gallery, move them to another folder and then within that folder create any kind of file (easiest by PC) called ".nomedia" (yes including the dot, but not the quotation marks) with no file extension. It can even be a folder.

This tells the gallery (and music app etc) that there is no media in that folder and not to catalogue it as so.

So if i do this the photos i move to a new folder wont show up in the All Photos gallery? Thats what im ultimately trying to do, i would like a few select photos in a folder on their own without showing up in the All Photos gallery as well, i cant make much sense of ASTRO if im honest.
 
Adding the "." to the beginning of a folder name tells the phone that it contains system files and are 'hidden' from apps like the Gallery. Any pictures in that folder won't show up in All Images, but neither will they be displayed in any other Gallery folder. You will only have access to them through a file manager like Astro.
