Root cpu speeds

hey guys, i just downloaded cpu spy, my settings in oc/uv are:

wake - conservative or ondemand ive tried both, 254-968mhz
sleep- ondemand 128-354, i checked cpu spy and it says its spent 7 minutes at 968 and 7 at 254, with about 10 seconds in the other frequencies, why doesent it spend much time at the other frequencies?

Well when you're screen is off it is not doing much work so this will generally be at the lower end of the scale. Often when you're doing stuff, you'll be at whatever CPU speed is needed. Often this could be the highest. The frequencies between are often used as steppings stones to get to the required frequency. I wouldnt worry about it, its not a fault.

ok thanks, its in deep sleep 70% of the time, what does this mean? what frequency? it takes a few clicks to wake it up sometimes i wonder if thats why?

what have you set your governor to?
if its conservative its proper bad
what kernal are you using
i find the only kernel that like being woken from 128 is manu 1.4

ive tried ondemand and conservative, im using the stock gingervillain kernel, how much could you undervolt by? im doing ok with -100 on all frequencies

Your screen off andscreen on should both be the same governor too. Switching between governors causes lag

Im using the manu kernel which is already undervolted, then I undervolted even further to 875 min for 128 and 256

You use a script or icredicontrol from the market to change VDD levels.

ive downloaded incredicontrol.

Sorry to be a pain, so can i now choose voltages the device works between for each frequency? i.e. a min and a max, thats what it looks like?

What sort of settings should i use for best battery life

It's all trial and error. Obviously the lower you can go the better but you need to test little by little as too low will cause reboots in stand by

thank you i understand now, argh i feel like im forever asking questions since rooting now, my wifi is on and off recently and i dont think its the kernel, i have the latest radio but lately the wifi loads very quick and other times it just hangs for ages, im not sure about 3g im sure it was doing it on that aswell earlier i cant remember? ive only undervolted the lowest frequencies but it was doing it before anyway

try changing the channel on the wifi router to one that is not common, there are probably other routers in the area running on the same frequency

Why does a reboot help anything?!

thats what i mean, as soon as i rebooted my phone the downloads from the theme app started working straight away :S

Also how the hell do i stop miui updating every friday lol, i dont want to have to reflash my kernel every week :@
