Been there, done that, sadly. I've since bought the Case-mate 2 piece case and it's superb quality. Well worth the money, if only it wasn't a stable door/ horse bolted situation...

I have mine all wrapped up in the Case-Mate Tough case
Would survive many falls without any issues.

Unfortunately as I have managed to prove it won't survive a fall when plugged in on charge very well. Managed to land directly onto the USB cable/port and mash up the connector
After much tinkering with a small scalpel I managed to rebuild the connector into a usable shape!

So you can't protect everything haha

thats like the second most annoying thing!!!! I HAVE A CASE, but i took it off cause i was using the camera and i have to take the back off.....
i dont like the silicone ones as they are tick and stick inside jeans, anyone on here know of a good plastic hard case? or would it be better to change the top housing?

Had a gel case since day 1. Very snug, not sticky in the pocket, and looks like it's part of the phone!

Do you know what case it is dude ? might be worth a look.

Know what you mean about them sticking in pockets but the silicone case I've got has a different kind of back that makes it slide in and out of pockets really easily. Have a look at it here

The sides are still nice and grippy so it feels safe in your hands. It also protects the camera as its slightly raised off any surface.

I use the case so I don't have to worry about scratching the sides and back when I place it on a desk. Drop protections is a secondary concern - I make sure I got a good grip on it!

Never used a screen protector. The screen is very resistant to scratches as long as you don't do something stupid like put it in your pocket with coins and keys.

I've never used a case or a screen protector and there's no scratches/scuffing anywhere on my Desire. Had it since March

Mine fell from the bedside table once..


It looks horrible in the picture but it's actually barely noticeable normally. I think you'll just have to live with some scuff marks, dents and scratches. It's a device you carry with you all the time and use in many different places so some wear and tear is expected. The screen and everything else is still in perfect condition on my phone.

Yeah. Scratches it can deal with.....it's the 4 foot drops onto concrete that cause problems, and a screen protector is not much help there

dropped mine while on the bus on the way out for a pint or 5 ..Shattered the screen. Ended up downing more than 5 pints afterwards to drown my sorrows.

Got it fixed in London in 30 mins..for

Had a look on eBay, the company I got my case from have no items for sale at the moment but THIS looks identical to the one I'm using. various colous available, I think mine is smoke.
