Root crap, phone bricked

I updated some apps this morning and the phone kept sleeping and wouldn't wake with out taking the battery out. This was caused by Set CPU the last time and now its happening again. I decided to uninstall Set CPU and start over with it and the phone bricked it will turn on to the boot screen and then turn off.:mad: phone is rooted with the lag fix only.

Any suggestions?

If it turns on to the boot screen, it shouldn't be bricked. What I would do is flash your phone back to the stock rom using odin. Hopefully you have the files downloaded because XDA's site is down (although I think they have the files on this forum too). Then just root your phone ( I wouldn't use the lagfix because personally I think it's unnecessary and causes future problems).
 
The odin I found is not working like the youtube video I found crap XDA is on again but their search function is not working more crap

I'll be honest. I have had more problems in the last month with this phone then I had with my G1 for a year and a half you would think that as technology gets better things would work better, I must be nuts to think such a thing.
 
I haven't had a problem with this phone since I got it. I just installed the new test rom and it's not bad. Try flashing to that rom, it's in the vibrant section on xda and it's an all in one package with odin and all the files.
 
I cant get odin to work I loaded the pic file in and the stock rom and all I get is

osm all threads completed succeed 0 failed o what next?:mad:
 
when I plug the usb into the phone, Odin is suppose to have a field light up and this does not happen. I dont think the phone and the computer (odin) are seeing each other. even though the computer seems to see the phone. I downloaded the drivers and unpacked them and it still doesn't work. frustration is setting in. I dont know if its a driver problem or a phone problem or a odin problem.

If I cant fix this damn phone or tm doesn't give me a phone that works the way it was advertised to it going back before Friday. I use the gps every day and not having it really sucks and to think all I did was update some apps.
 
Did you install the samsung drivers? On that link I posted, there is a link for the samsung drivers to install on your computer. As long as you read the instructions step by step, you should have no problem whatso ever. After you install the drivers, reboot your cpu, then plug your usb cord into the computer (not in your phone yet), open up odin, make sure your phone is off, plug the other end of the usb cord that's already plugged into your computer to your phone (while it is off, hold down both the + and - volume keys but do not touch the power button), then you should see a yield sign on your phone screen that says download mode, after you see that screen on your phone let go of the volume buttons, then you should see a yellow box on odin with one of the ports it's using, then just follow the steps.
 
windows 7 64. I figured out that the drivers are not loading for some reason? I downloaded them and unpacked them into the windows driver file. what next? did I do something wrong or did I forget something?
 
Well, I use Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit, but try this: Download the file or if it's downloaded already, install the drivers. After you install the drivers, what happens or what does it say?
 
What a pain. I uninstalled the drivers and did a full reinstall and now its working. Lets see if I will get my phone back today. its back!
 
I installed the new rom and the gps is working for the first time I locked on to 7 birds indoors I usually only get one if I'm lucky.

Since the phone was wiped and I couldn't back up most of my stuff it will take awhile to get working.
 
Ok good. At least you got it working again. This time I'd be careful of the mods you use like the lagfix I wouldn't even bother with since this rom is much more snappier anyways thus the lagfix is not needed. Go to xda and read up on the do's and dont's for this rom. There are a couple of threads for it.
 
have you ever thought that maybe technology is to much for you? Or maybe it has left you behind because I've flashed and tweaked and droped and ect. on my brilliant vibrant and had no problems at all, Sorry but its just my thoughts.
