Root crap

So you are aware, SBF will return you to unrooted stock in most cases. You may find a rooted SBF around. So step on here is to get your phone up and running again, even if it is on old GB software.

Honestly, I think that your best bet is to use fastboot or RSD Lite to reload the stock software onto the phone. There is a great document with instructions for using moto-fastboot here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oy2NO9D2qBSNuUV4b8hfGLFPuQL0tFtgKpuYugZhy8Q/edit

You can get the fxz files for the Droid X here: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/

However, just checking that site, it appears to be down at the moment, which is really tough luck for you right now. If I can find a copy of the FXZ files for the Droid X, I'll post them here ASAP. Meanwhile, keep checking that site... when it is up, it will have a list of Motorola models, and you can choose the droid X from there. From that, there will be a list of all available firmware - you'll probably want the latest one, probably Android 2.3.4, for the Verizon model. (They may have firmware for other models there, like the international Milestone X or the Alltel X. The Verizon versions should be obvious.)

Droid x does not have a fastboot mode, just stock recovery, and bootloader mode.
So sbf with rsd lite or ezSBF are the options, 4.5.621 sbf is safest option, but once on 621 it can not be downgraded.

Thank you doogald and themib.:thumb:

I haven't used rsdlite since I had to flash GB on my D2 and I was trying to go off memory.

instructions were fine, may have been a bad download though.
root> bootstrap> install Twrp in CWM> reboot> install CM11 in TWRP> boot CM11>do basic setup>reboot>install Gapps in TWRP> boot CM11
Note: CWM nandroids will not restore in TWRP, most older DX roms will not install in TWRP.
If you want to install an older rom best to SBF.
