Root Creating my own ROM

I'm getting my head around the kitchen and have a working ROM but I can't get A2SD to sym link to the SD card even though I've included the option in the kitchen. Anyone here know, or know someone who would?

PM'ing people on XDA but getting very far
 
I know nothing of these matters, but could you create the rom sans a2sd, then flash it as an add on to the rom? If that works you can just manually compile with that script in init.d?
 
Adding to that, droidzone would probably be able to help.... he lives for this sort of thing.
 
Out of interest, you have found that the symlink isn't working by actuallty using the ROM? Nothing like an EXT4 not supported by kernel is it? Whats teh contents of the a2sd Script?

I find xda members pretty strange and very "egomaniacle", noobs over there get almost no help at all!! (not saying you're a noob, Eddy). ;)

Will be watching for your rom, good luck!!
 
It's nothing special at the mo, just a stock 2.29.405.5 base with add-ons (similar to Teppic's). Until I get my head around linux this is all it'll be.

Afterwards I'll start looking into different builds but if I get as involved as I was with WinMo 6.5 ROMS when I had my HD2 I think the missus will kill me!! :D
 
Yep, I basically went through the options in the kitchen but A2SD isn't linking to the SD card. I'm going to re-partition it in case (although it's fine on other ROMs). From the kitchen thread on XDA:

Main Menu

1. Set up working folder from ROM
2. Add root permissions - DONE
3. Add BusyBox - DONE
4. Disable boot screen sounds - DONE
5. Add wireless tethering
6. Zipalign all *.apk files to optimize RAM usage - DONE
7. Change wipe status of ROM
8. Change name of ROM
9. Check update-script for errors
10. Show working folder information

Advanced Options

11 - Deodex files in your ROM - DONE
12 - Add task killer tweak for speed (stock ROM only)
13 - Add /data/app functionality - DONE
14 - Add Nano text editor + sysro/sysrw
15 - Add Bash (command shell) - DONE
16 - Add Apps2SD - DONE
17 - Add /etc/init.d scripts support (busybox run-parts) - DONE
18 - Add custom boot animation functionality - DONE
19 - Porting tools (experimental)
20 - Unpack or re-pack a boot.img
21 - Sign APK file(s)
22 - Convert update-script or updater-script
23 - Run plugin scripts
 
Sorted it, was a clash of modules - now up and running so need to make sure it's all correct. Sense is flying along now, tho! :D
 
Thanks for the update. What module clashed?

Would be cool if could generate AOSP roms there too. and 2.3 haha. yeah right.
 
It was the a2sd module and perflock enabler both having 04 at the beginning - seems they should all be individually numbered

Don't know if perflock is working or not but a2SD is so I'm happy for now!! Can finish it off tomorrow
