Root [Cricket] Do I need to unroot?

Lyriel

Newbie
As you might have guessed, I have a Huawei Ascend on Cricket. It's rooted via Z4Root. I'm not using any mods, though I do have TiBu Pro freezing unnecessary and troublesome apps.

My phone's been on a family plan, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I'm going to need to split my phone off to my own account. I'm obviously going to use the same phone, the same number - I just need to have my phone in my own name now.

Will I need to unroot my phone in order for Cricket to do its work? Though I've been on Cricket for a couple of years, because of the family plan thing, I've never had to directly deal with them in person. I'm not sure what the split-off is going to involve.

Advice is greatly appreciated.

Wouldnt have to far as the fone goes, but might so cricket doesnt say stupid crap about it. With Z4Root its easy to unroot tho. Just save the apk for it to you pc while u go n have your fone changed over. Appkik and I think that tibu can save the apk for ya.

I don't think they even need to touch your phone for them to change your plan like that. Even if they did, I seriously doubt they could tell if your phone was rooted. Besides, with z4 root, you can just push the button to un root.

Thank you, guys. Thankfully, I have a month to get this done; my April bill is already taken care of, although I want to get this done as soon as possible. If it makes a difference, my local store is a corporate-owned Cricket store.

Will I need to unfreeze apps that I've had frozen via TiBu before I unroot? Also, with apps that require root access, I don't need to actually uninstall them, do I? Can they just stay put while the phone is unrooted, and be ready to go when I do re-root? I'm not using anything that messes with the CPU clock, so I should be good there.

I agree with Gmash, only reason they would need to actually see or do anything to your phone is if they change your number, and I'm not 100% on even then.
