Crummy low-light cameras

blog

I have to say that I am extremely disappointed with the camera performance in low light. I fiddled with the settings on the thunderbolt to get the most light into the shot that I could (without the flash), and this is what happened.

I don't have any test shots with the Front Camera handy, but it was similarly pathetic compared to a lowly ipod touch front facing camera.

i also have to agree that the camera in low light is pathetic. I haven't tried it yet in sunlight and I'm sure it's awesome, but I was testing out Tango with a friend who has the iPhone 4 last night...standing a few feet from each other, in a parking lot, and his face was lit up on my screen but my picture was basically black.

We were both very, very surprised and he was like "Thunderbolt, huh?" Pffftt....it was embarrassing. Also, i hope they push an update to give us the ability to shut off 4G so that my phone battery doesn't die in 3 or 4 hours. I mean come on, I only really need or care about 4G when surfing the internet on my browser....

Weird..the Evo's camera was on par with the iPhone; I even read a review that says the Thunderbolt's is better than the Evo, but from what I can see so far, nuh-uh.

The good news...is that with the flash on, the Thunderbolt outdoes the DX ten fold.
