the instructions are in the thread http://androidforums.com/galaxy-prevail-all-things-root/432614-rom-gb-ctmod-2-3-12-01-11-a.html

you use http://androidforums.com/galaxy-pre...od-v5-0-2-6-file-system-recovery-utility.html to flash it

Before you try to flash it, remember:
Must be root! If you're not, use Odin to root it.
Must be on Gingerbread already (EJ06)

Once you are on a rooted GB:
- Download CTMod 2.3
- Copy it (do not extract the zip) to your SD card
- Boot into recovery (volume up+power button until phone turns on and you get to recovery menu)
- Go to "install from file" and choose CTMod.zip
- When done, reboot the phone

Enjoy the best, blazing fast ROM for the Prevail :)

P.S: Before you install any Apps I highly recommend you get A2SD too, this is a program that allows apps to be installed directly into the SD card, which can obviously hold a bunch more apps than the Prevail's sad sad internal memory. If you do this format the SD-Ext to 256mb so you have plenty of space (You will see what I mean when doing it...)

Considering my first 'hardcore' gaming computer had a 400Mhz Pentium 2

That big, mine had a 1.19Mhz MOS 6507 ...

Me too Biker. A buddy had the TRS80. Another buddy had a Kaypro 10. At college we had an Apple II and a Commodore Business Machine. Late 1970's. When I graduated I bought a Commodore 64 when It first came out. Those were the days.
