Currently have iPhone 4 looking to upgrade to Inspire

I have a upgrade on 7/3/2011 I really like the way HTC Inspire looks I played briefly with it at a AT&T store. I wanna upgrade to it but some questions first. I heard there's a speaker issue of some sort any truth to that? Will I keep unlimited data that I currently have with my iPhone 4? Overall how much do you guys like this phone? Thanks for any help you guys can give, a few other reasons I wanna switch are because I'm kinda bored with the iPhone, I like the main screen time display / weather look.

My speakerphone is crap its hard to understand people and they can't understand what I'm saying. But I use a plantronics k100 and this solved all my problems. I can even stream pandora through it.

Yes you get to keep your unltd plan. This applies when going from smartphone to smartphone ( iphone or android)

My husband just went from 3gs to inspire and he loves it and doesn't know why he didn't switch to android sooner. I also love my inspire.

that sucks the speakerphone stinks

Yeah I was disappointed with it but since it is the only negative i can come up with its not enough for me to not want the phone. Also my husband thought it would make him want to take it back since he uses speakerphone a lot but now he has used the phone and the speakerphone wasn't a deal breaker

In smartphone time 7/3/2011 is a ways off. I like my Inspire and I still have a iPhone 4 just wanted something else to tinker with. The iPhone screen blows the Inspires away except for the size. If you can handle a big phone I may suggest waiting to see when the HTC Holiday will be released. That is the phone I want next!

have there been any updates on a possible release?

I have no problems with my speaker. It is far superior to iPhones. I regularly listen to music (softly, obviously I'm not rocking the house down) and use the speaker phone for convos (and I do a lot of teleconferencing).

The device itself is much nicer and the operating system is also nicer, albeit some 3rd party apps are slightly more buggy. Syncing the device, if that's your thing, is not much nicer. iTunes did everything for you, whereas the Droid is much more stand alone.

I talked to AT&T last night and they opened a case to see if I can get my upgrade now as opposed from a month from now. I kinda wanna see the Red Inspire Radioshack has. I liked from pics I seen.

Two other questions by some chance I don't like this phone how do I have to return it? Also I do get my upgrade back if I return it right? I'm just alittle scared to make the switch seeing I really know nothing about android.

Return policy will depend on where you get it. Att directly then you have 30 days. I think Radioshack is also 30 days. Not sure about best buy but i thought I read costco had a longer return period.

And yes if returned you get your upgrade back

Thanks, just scared I been watching videos and its different

I upgraded at Walmart once then decided to take the phone back it took close to 3 days for my upgrade to show back up on my account. Not sure if it varies from store to store or just depends on the ATT system updating cause at best buy when I returned a phone I had my upgrade back within 24 hours.

There should be no issues returning the phone if you wanted to unless you physically damage the phone then returning it won't work out. Amazon states in their return policy that they will inspect for physical damage and can deny a return if damage is found

Okay, I'm hoping I like the OS and everything haven't decided if I want red or black I'm leaning towards red tho

I say red. I soo want a red one. Although won't make a difference with a case lol

I'm thinking red too, just wish there was a way to transfer contacts over without having to program all of them. Also will I keep my recorded voicemail greeting? Also is there a map app I can use for my yahoo mail account?

You will have to reset your voicemail but I got an app for visual voicemail called youmail and it has prerecorded greetings after I installed the app and set it up it automatically uses the smart greeting unless you change it. The smart greeting addresses each caller by their first name.

I think I read you have an iPhone correct? If so my husband used the bump app to transfer all his contacts from iPhone to inspire.

I'm not sure about the yahoo mail as I don't use that.
