Root Custom Boot - Blue X takeover for root users

I'm big on blue lights and stuff, and I'm really new to the rooting thing, but I just followed the instructions...I put the .zip file on my SD card, copied from that, pasted in the local folder, restarted...now I have my cool blue eye! Thanks!

Guys, does anybody have problem with custom boot animation after upgrade? Seems like moving zip to data/local doesn't work for me anymore

It still works for me. I have a few animation archives in a folder on my SD and I just copy one over to /data/local/ when I feel like switching things up.

Tell us some specifics about your device please. What version of Froyo are you on and how did you update to it? Are you rooted? Deodexed? etc.

When you move the bootanimation.zip to /data/local/ and try to boot up, what happens? Does it just use the default boot animation? Does it simply hang? etc.

I don't see why being on a leaked version would cause this, but other than the fact that you updated via TBH, I don't see any other differences between your situation and mine. I updated to the OTA 2.2, leaked via D2 method, and then manually deodexed. Perhaps whatever file that tells the phone to check /data/local/, then check /system/media/ is different on the leaked copy of Froyo than on the official one.
