Custom Themed HTC keyboards!

OK... So I'm getting my DX in 2 days, and it will be my first Android phone. I've never played around with any phone settings before and am pretty cluleless. I may need some help with this when I get my phone in.

Also....Anyone have an Oregon Ducks Keyboard layout for the Dinc? My bro is a huge Duck fan and has the Dinc.

I've made one if you want to take a look at it. PM me your email and I'll send it to ya. You'll have to load it on the phone and take a look at it. Be sure you follow all the steps on how to install this.

Thanks! I've been messing around on that site trying to make one but all the ones i've been making look like crap. lol

I am using the cowboys one right now to match how I have set up the rest of my phone during football season. I also made a pink/purple one with a flower on the keyboard for my daughter.

Ok, I have a dumb question ... I'm using the XT9 layout of this keyboard in portrait, but I haven't seen any themed examples of it. Can this layout be themed as well?

it is themed just like the full qwerty. The HTC keyboard comes with the XT9 and the compact qwerty keyboards.

ok so its not just for root users.

i did everything and when i select HTC_IME mod the keyboard i created wont show up. What am i missing?

This is really nice! Slowly getting to know Android and tools like this really help! Much appreciated to the Devs putting their time into this!

It won't show until you select in any type field, "input method", then you should see at the bottom of your list past Swype/Multi-touch, HTC_IME mod > select that. Then it should come up whenever you bring the keyboard up.

On a different note: I've just created my first keyboard, I've transfered both files to the SDcard and installed each one. Say I create another that I want to replace the current one with. Do I simply install it again? (the generated keyboard file) or do I need to manually switch to it after installation? I'm still at work and honestly can't do much, so if this is in the settings of the mod please forgive me - gonna check this out a lot more when I get home, just wanted to see how easy it was to apply.

Thanks!

All you have to do is install the new keyboard and it goes right over the top of your old one. You don't have to re-set up anything. Once it is installed the old one is gone and the new one is there. I have set-up a folder on my SD card called Keyboards and renamed the files so I would know which one is which. I REALLY like being able to make my own.

I'll have try that to see if I can keep multiple keyboard layouts on my phone, I like to change themes from red to blue to green and hopefully soon I can go FSU and Viking themes

Thanks! that sounds easy enough - good idea with the old ones too, got a feeling I'm going to be making a few of these before I settle for one, and it would be nice to have different ones, as you do of wallpaper, ringers ect.
